So, just a thought; Bedders scored last week & y’day & we lost both games. I recall from some time back, maybe just PL but every time he scores, we lose? Is that correct / still right?
Honestly every fan base is the same, go on any forum and there are people calling each other ****s 90% of the time and none of them are dealing with the constant abject football misery we are. I’d actually say we are one of the more polite bunches. Would be nice if we could unite against invading WUMs though.
Clearly a dig at me. Look mate, there are some of us who can handle a bit of banter, and in fact there are even some on here who go on to other clubs' forums to dish it out. It was my thread this time, and on the introduction page, I specifically welcomed any Newcastle fans to come and join in. Now if that poster had come on all guns blazing and taking the piss from the start, then yeah, I'd agree with you. But he didn't. He simply stated that he thought their penalty was 'stonewall'. Hardly a ludicrous take. And then after that Billy crumbled and started dishing it out, which I thought was childish, so I said so. If you want to jump to fellow Saints fans' defence every time, no matter what, then that's up to you. But if I see a Saints fan behaving in a way I disagree with, I'll call him out. Each to their own. EDIT: I haven't read the pages all the way back through the game, for obvious reasons, so if I missed something that the Newcastle lad wrote during the game, then my bad. Point it out and I will apologise.
It was obviously a dig, because if it wasn't for the things I said on here yesterday, then there wouldn't be an issue, or a need to call for solidarity. I just think if we're going to hound out every opposition fan who comes on our board (yesterday wasn't the first time either), then it's a bit of a shame. I personally quite like hearing other fans' views, and don't particularly mind a bit of banter either. But sure, it's boring now. We can all just agree to disagree etc
You know when you get a sense that a player is taking it in, looking around and lingering longer clapping the fans. He came over to the Kingsland to give his shirt away and take photos with fans. I’ve not seen him do that before.
Been a great servant albeit performances have dropped in recent seasons. Wish him good luck with wherever he goes. Makes sense from our point of view to get some cash for him this window.
**** me what a drama queen. I crumbled I said about them missing out from Champions League as a joke, I wasn’t being serious. I quoted the wrong post of his when I called him a moron. I meant to quote the “how’s the weather down there”. And as for suggesting I glass people, that is far worse than anything I said. What an unnecessary thing to say, way, way over the top. Anyhow, you are clearly better than some posters on here. Good on you Che. I’m not even arsed about any response from you. Having thought about it, I’m not interested in someone who said what you said. You’ll be very pleased to know I’ll pop you on ignore. Think that is only the second one on there, but I’d imagine I’m on far more than that
Next seasons going to be really weird for me, and probably a lot of other Saints fans too. I want us to win every game we play, I want us to win the Championship, but at the same time it's going to be really difficult to get excited about trying to get promoted back to the PL again after our last two PL seasons. E-I-E-I-E-I-OH **** we're back to VAR and getting battered every week.
I guess we just have to hope - maybe naively - that the club learn from this, and that if we get promoted next season then our transfer activity in summer 2026 is significantly better than in summer 2024. It would help of course if those making the decisions had some real PL experience. And I'm inclined to include the guy in the dugout in that. But I still wouldn't swap this horror season for losing at Wembley last season.
Thought we deserved the win, even though we weren't great. You definitely weren't the worst team we've played this season though, that would be Man U at the end of December, shame you lost to them, that result ridiculously flattered them.
