    Home draws this season

    Sunderland 2-2 Leeds (1-0 up)
    Sunderland 2-2 Coventry (2-0 up)
    Sunderland 0-0 West Brom
    Sunderland 1-1 Bristol City
    Sunderland 2-2 Plymouth (2-1 up)

League table would’ve been a lot different if we could’ve turned a couple of those games into wins

Not being a dick here but we also got 2 stoppage time equaliser in those so it's swings and roundabouts really.

Away from home however we really have thrown away a **** loads of points late on

Fair play to Hume, a lot better today than he has been in recent weeks

It's not just the home games, we've dropped more points in the last 15 minutes than any other team in the league this season - comfortably as well

I'm normally a glass half full person, definitely hard to feel like that after today's result and performance.

The only positive for me is we closed the gap to Sheff utd

I get folk saying we won't get automatic after a result like that but there will be loads of twists and turns to go

Let's see how all 4 squads look at the end of the window

I know a lot is being made of the starting line up but that starting line up should be beating Plymouth comfortably imo

I still have massive concerns over how we are using our bench tho, I'm sorry that I keep mentioning it (tbf I do it when we win as well so it's not a reaction to a negative result) but it's why we aren't killing off teams and why we drop late points

Still think we need 3 players by the end of the window to really stand a chance of automatic

Let's see what the next week brings

I'm shocked that he admitted that. If RLB wants to get minutes into Samed's legs, play him in the 21's until he is up to speed, not in league games where we are fighting for every point.

Early days for him mate, after a long lay off. My worry is where is he getting game time to get up to speed. We would be mad to drop Neil for him to allow it to happen. Folk think Neil is better as an 8 but I cant see it. Neil has to play our CDM role and Samed needs to be on the bench, champions league experience or not. He can be that sub who comes on when needed, and build from there. As of now though he doesnt look ready and time is against us to give him games to get ready.

    Manager wasn’t brave enough today.

We should have stayed two up top, would have terrified them. Thought it was odd to start more cautiously at home to bottom of the league.
When we had the two strikers on briefly, we scored two goals. Then le Bris bottled it and pulled Wilson off for Hjelde. We looked so nervous trying to sit deep and hold out, genuinely think we’d have been better keeping them pegged back.

I said it before the game to my mate

RLB would’ve fancied us to have too much for Plymouth and this was the perfect fixture to get minutes into Samed

What today showed was how important Neil is to us, how he sets the tempo and how much he protects the centre half's.

I appreciate Samed needs to get up to speed, but he has a lot to pick up

Haven't read the whole thread but before ko almost to a man commented they were happy with RLBs team.
That however didn't last til HT.
Opinions in football can change so quickly when we went putting Plymouth away.
Not saying the manager hasn't got today wrong but people turn so quickly I often wonder who would want to be a manager.

Coming to a new league is challenging. The championship is a tough league to play in. A mixture of intensity and relentlessness. Physicality is big too. Had he been available sooner we may now be seeing the player he is meant to be.

Regis has to be really careful now. He is giving him a game to get up to speed. Le Fee also to a lesser extent. I think today Samed selection knocked our balance. Regis is a quick learner, there are no gimmes in this league.

Samed may yet be a key player for us, I hope so. I am sure Le Fee will be. I just worry a little about trying to get both up to a level at the same time disrupts our rhythm. A win against Boro makes the last 4 games an excellent return though. Fine margins.

Agree with all of that. I said to the lads at the time that Samed playing as a 6 had moved Neil and Jobe forward (to an 8 and a 10 respectively) and that it didn't suit them. Jobe immediately improved when Samed went off and he was more involved as an 8.

I understand why he's playing Le Fee out wide, but as soon as Mundle or Watson are available (if not before) I want him in the middle.

So much about us was wrong today, but I'm not overreacting - 3 games in a week including 2 tough away games. Though we should great mental strength to turn it around after conceding that bizarre 1st goal, but looked so shaky at the back. Not sure why, as we have some excellent defenders.

we have to stop shoe horning

aouchiche managed fine on the left, keep him around until the summer and hes the left mid until mundle etc return

get le fee central, someone misses out but so what, we are crying out for a technician in the middle of the park.

If we going through the team whilst im at it we are crying out for a right winger with impact in the box

Ontadyas fkn useless dispalay there is more chance of Oscar Pistorius getting athletes foot than us getting promotino. For the 1st time I blame the mangaer. Rubbish fkn substitutions trying to protect led against the bottome team
