I think the team next season will bear little relationship to who turned out this afternoon. The better players will be off next week if not in the summer. The old guard like Stephens, Bednarek, Mccarthy, Aribo, Armstrong etc will be bombed out with judgement being abated regarding Bree and Manning.

I would suggest there will be less than 10 of the current squad left by August. We need a root and branch clean out. Not expecting a promotion campaign. The repair job will take a few seasons.

We'd be mad to bin off Bedders and Armstrong imo.

I agree, but we simply have to learn lessons and be f we did get promoted, they need binning off.
May be harsh on Bednarek, but he’d only have a bench slot in the Prem for me.

Ah stop it. You’ve liked virtually everyone of his posts. A mate? Just leave it. It’s embarrassing.

A lot of the "old guard" as you call them would do a very good job in the championship. All the players you mentioned were solid players last year. Unpopular opinion maybe.

It's when and if we come back up the issue will rise up again ...

It was pretty tame stuff from our Geordie friend, bloody hell compare it to the stuff that was said on the old beeb site. I kinda miss those days, some funny **** went on.

Well no, TSP said they didn’t know of one. That’s very different.

I think he can do a job in the prem but he can't be the best CB like he is currently. Needs a leader next to him who's considerably better than he is.

Agree with the sentiment though that less loyalty will need to be shown if we manage an immediate promotion again. Though the sheer numbers mean it won't be possible to do it in all areas of the pitch.

The Huddersfield rivalry in the first league one season especially was great fun.

As much as I ****ing hate the club at the moment, the one thing which really keeps me entertained is we must be the only fan base who turns on each other. <laugh>

Nothing like a bit of adversity to have us all at each other's throats. Nathan Jonesesque levels today!

I agree he needs to not be the best CH we have each week, we desperately lack a leader on the pitch. And no Captain Jack, it ain’t you!

But if we do play a 3 at the back, I find him and THB get in each others way. Thinking about THB, if we do go down I think he do well to stay with us as he has been poor imo. On form I’d drop him for a bit for Wood.

Will be interesting to see how PSR plays out for us if we do go up, I have a feeling g we may actually be in a half decent position, a lot will depend on what goes out and in this month.

    There's a shock <laugh>

Remember clearly them invading en masse after a midweek 0-0 draw with Oldham (I think?) ended out faint play off hopes and then us returning the favour when they lost their play off

I was thinking today that nobody seems to have got too upset that we spent £20m on THB yet. He’s young and has potential, but he’s a long way off being a £20m player this season. Now there is someone that needs a VVD style leader alongside him.

Ok but originally it was quoted in various press articles & then it was generally accepted nothing was confirmed. Yes, you’re right but I think fair assumption (!) there isn’t one. Of course tho, **** who knows what unless it’s formally stated by the club which it rarely does.

I forgot how much we paid. For me he has been our worse CB.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to leave in the Summer, but with how he has played I’m not sure he will have loads of offers, and I imagine we also won’t sell to break even or at a loss.

I definitely can't see anyone paying what we would want for THB. He's been dreadful the last two games imo.

I hope we don't stick with a back 3 next season but if we do we simply have to invest in some wing backs as being short there is absolutely killing us currently.

Re PSR aren't the rules about to change so hard to say? Under current rules though our allowed losses would be significantly less due to having 2/3 championship seasons so we might find we have less to spend than we did this time round.
