I thought today's performance was a decent one. We have a poor playing squad with little quality to work with. I think Juric has made Saints a better footballing team but the jury is out because the players to pick from are not good enough. Regarding SR , I think they are inexperienced and are unable to identify problems when things are not working. The previous relegation should have given sufficient warning signs with the appointment of Nathan Jones and Selles showing a mixture of naivity and stupidity There have been positive actions such as the appointment of Wilcox yet he was sensible to see the writing on the wall. Think we would have gone regardless of the approach of Man Utd. This season should have started with a new manager at the helm. We were fortunate to get promoted and I feel Martin believed his own hype. He should have gone in May and someone from a higher level appointed. The signings have been shocking too. Someone needs to be held to account for the poor scouting and signings. I We have had 3 seasons of this. I do not feel SR need another chance. When they make mistakes, they are catastrophic and defy common sense. I am really disappointed with them and feel they are not capable of operating above a Championship level if at all. Things will get really bad next season when Portsmouth finish above us. Surprised some of the wise heads in here thunk SR will come good. There is no evidence for that being likely despite Solak's good intentions. They are not good enough to manage a team like Southampton.
Portsmouth won't finish above us. The gulf between the Championship and PL will show when we start smashing teams again.
Where’s Wellington? I thought people said he would hit the ground running in Jan? Injured or just getting up to speed?
You suggesting I may go out and glass someone is the same as offending you by asking why your knickers in a twist? Sure Or where I said I hope Newcastle miss out on Champions League. I do hope they do, but that post of mine was a little tongue in cheek. I really don’t think me being pissed off with a comment suggesting I glass people is being over sensitive. Edit. And why only quote me, pretty sure someone else made a comment about the Saudi regime. Anyhow, let not bother discussing anymore. I think you’re being an utter **** with what you said.
If it makes you feel any better, once we (hopefully) get Spors over the line, we effectively *do* have a new owner. Ankersen and Kraft (who were running the club) will have gone, to be replaced by Spors (who has a lot of experience) and a more hands-on Solak (who has money that he’s prepared to spend).
Never say never. We could well be seeing the beginnings of one of the south coast power shifts that's happened throughout modern history. Can you imagine if we met them in the play offs.
****. We'll be going in to the Championship paying off 2 ex manager salaries and topping up 2 other ones. ****ing incredible
That's well over the top. Everyone's feeling ****ing sore about the result and an opposition fan is here on the wind up so they've had a bit of a go. He doesn't deserve that
He wasn't on the wind up until people started insulting him though. He just stated that he thought it was penalty. Then he gets called all sorts of names. Our lot sure like to make fun of other fans when we are doing well and winning, and yet we can't even engage in rational debate with them when we are losing. It's just a bit sad mate. It's not like today's result came as a shock to anyone.
Yeah would be mate, two high stakes close together with no time to organise a bubble. Be even worse if it was the final though... Won't allow 2-3k away fans to make their own way to a match in the other city but then have 35k of each club travelling to London.
