He's a 24 year old professional athlete. Times have changed astronomically since the 90s. If he wants to compete at the top he needs to look after himself or accept a lower league career.

There’s a nuance to the “should they be out drinking” argument.

But when I used to be in marathon training I’d stop drinking for 12 weeks. And I was about as middle of the pack as you can get. It was easy for me. I wanted to apply myself to the best of my ability.

I don’t personally understand why professional athletes would WANT to be out drinking. And that’s before you even consider they’re paid good money for their athleticism.

I've never read anyone say we deserve to be in the automatics - I've read people say we've got a chance with us not being that far behind the teams that are in those positions points wise. Unless you can show any posts that contradict me

Consistently cannot win by more than a goal, consistently fall to pieces at end of a game.
Done a lot right to obviously but natural to worry about the flaws after that showing.

We need to up the creativity. Short term we should be thinking about Aouchiche coming on. We need someone who’ll try something a bit more inventive, and take more pot shots. Starting XI was wrong and RLB is never gonna pull the plug early. Hope we learn from this missed opportunity.

Creativity is not a problem in the squad. It was today because of the team selection

I get Samed needs minutes but rather he got them if we're a few goals up, then give him last 30.

    Awful today, Plymouth should’ve won

Patterson saved us a point but cost us 2

Well that was so poor. I’m sure it’s been brought up already, but I’m getting sick of Patto. There’s calm, and then there’s dosile, and he is dosile. Not just him today, Mepham was awful which is a rarity. Simply were not at the races.

I defend the lad like mad, genuinely think he's one of the best shot stoppers in the league but he doesn't command his box and the distribution seems to be getting worse.

Yes, I agree with all that. Roberts is delivering very little and hasn't all season. Samed was actually OK but why go three in the middle against the bottom side. The full backs were key and Hume did his job but Cirkin was no threat whatsoever. Le Bris got it badly wrong today.

I disagree tbh. I think our most regular XI lacks the level of creativity needed to break down lower half teams in a low block. Or to cut them open with ease anyway. A game like today we should have anticipated having all the ball and put as many creative players as we could in there. To me this is a blueprint for many of our remaining home games. Away games are different, and will need a more balanced approach. However at home, against these type of teams, we need to be able to overwhelm them.

you cant play 3 midfielders at home to Plymouth and non of them be identifiable as a technician, their profiles are all possession orientated and had zip creativity through the middle

Meanwhile a player with that profile is stuck out wide.

He has to play square pegs in round holes, people will miss out but thats football.

Aye, nuance needed, indeed. I could list off 10 world class players that used to smoke. We need only judge the performances.

I think we were lucky we got a point.

This keystone cops defending every time the ball goes into our penalty area is becoming too common.

Elfy must go to his best position. If he’s getting tired in the second half we have the subs. He’s getting tired on the wing anyway so get him match fit by playing him in his natural position.
Those saying we have no LW player with the 2 out, we have Adil who has shown he is more than capable.

And, as just about everybody has noticed, why are we so slow. With the 2 rapid forwards we should be going from Patterson to their box in seconds. We only looked dangerous when we got at them very quickly. As soon as we started farting about sideways and backwards we looked toothless and very predictable.

How the hell did that happen. Probably the worst team we have face in years at the SOL. Unfortunately it was RLB's fault far too defensive When we went 2-1 up they were there for the taking but he brought on 2 centre half's
