Awful today, real lack of creativity and a cutting edge. I think a few bottled it today after seeing the play off places in view. Soneone should've taken a yellow early on and nobbled Bannon, everyone knows everything they do goes through him ffs. Big chance squandered imo
He is. Sets the team up well and I can only assume alters tactics based on the referee who is notoriously lenient. I know we hit the bar but never really worked the keeper until 2 down even when we had plenty of the ball. Oh well, a full week off will help and Millwall aren’t all that.
Marti was having a long chat with ref after the game..... even 1st half but we didn't step it up 2nd half and they were the better side.....
Bad day at the office & never really got going at times, seemed out thought, shame run is over & we move on
Think we were a bit nice and naive in the circumstances. You need a Cook or Colback to be in the ref’s ear and dishing it out as much as they are. He was absolutely militant about having a little chat with everyone before every set piece though.
Dry January is just marketing bollox.... we go dry Monday to Friday and then enjoy some booze Saturday & Sunday.... liver gets a break so all good...
I thought the ref was appalling today. Poor decision making, seemed reluctant to give cards to SWFC, and how the foul on Smythy didn’t warrant a yellow is beyond me. Add to that the goal kick outside the area debacle was embarrassing. That said we deserved nothing and got nothing. Onwards and upwards.
Yeah he won’t be there long putting up with the circus above him. Getting the best out of what on paper isn’t a great side with all the nonsense that comes with managing Sheffield Wednesday.
Agreed, but I still like the alcohol and sugar detox. I'll be pissed before the end of the game at the lair!
First time in a while that we've faced a really strong high press and we eventually crumbled under the pressure as we have many times before although not as easily as we would have done earlier in the season. I thought we still merited a point and probably would have got one had Nardi come to claim the ball for the first goal as he surely should. Worryingly toothless.
As others have said, our run came to stop, disappointed but we can start again and will. Isn’t it good to know we have many teams below us, so a loss is affordable.
Today shows we're in about the right place in the table. Admit it, if in November you had said we'd be 13th with 38 points you'd have been a candidate for the men in white coats. We've had a great run and we're doing ok, anything more will be a bonus...
What a weird old game. It reminded me of last seasons game against them in which we also lost 0-2. A packed Loftus Road with a home crowd full of expectation only to leave on the final whistle completely baffled and deflated. They scored mid way in the second half and then scored a late second against the run of play. Same thing happened today. We started today brightly enough with Smyth taking their full back on at every opportunity and getting some good crosses in, albeit no one getting on the end of them. We had loads of corners but couldn't make any of them count. I don't think we did a lot wrong, we just couldn't find a way through them and made so few chances. Oh well, onwards and upwards to The Wall next week. Saw this posted by a Sheff Weds fan ...
We didn't do too much wrong, we just didn't do enough right. It seemed to me a bit like a boxing match where they just sat back and covered up for the first five rounds, realised that we couldn't hurt them, and just stepped up and took the fight. We had insufficient guile or urgency to cause them any problems. Cifuentes comprehensively out-coached.
Fair enough assessment Strolls. It looked like after fifteen minutes we were going through the emotions and barring a miracle anything was going to happen. They took the initiative and got the goals. We never looked likely to score. We lacked the nous to break them down. It was pretty painful to watch and not enjoyable at all. My daughter was really looking forward to this game before heading back to Leeds Uni and to sit through this ****.
