Disheartening for whom? And one thing you cannot say about the last three matches is that the team were "gutless". Quite the contrary in fact. Outplayed, yes; gutless, definitely not.
Whose confidence? Whose morale? Why would anyone expect "a good solid win" against Swansea tomorrow? None of the players unavailable on Wednesday are going to be available tomorrow. In the four matches prior to this three-match, winless run, we took 10 points from a possible 12; Núñez and Sainz played in all four matches, Slimane in three of the four. None will be on the pitch tomorrow. Sargent, the only returnee available, is still not considered ready to start. The side we field against the Swans will be pretty much the side that played on Wednesday. Halting the losing run will be reason enough for satisfaction IMO, never mind coming out with "a good solid win".
I didn't say anything about 'expecting' a good, solid win, just that such a win could have a good effect on the morale of both players and supporters. We're at home, against a team below us who have lost their last 4 away matches. It's an opportunity, not an expectation.
These are really silly, unnecessarily passive aggressive questions. It’s perfectly obvious what was meant by the posters. For Christ’s sake Robbie try for once in your life not to be such an unpleasant person to interact with. You could easily have made the exact points without being such a snark. And if you had, they’d have been interesting and useful points, but instead they get lost in the aggression
When you get the game up to watch , crack open a cold beverage & your team go a goal down in seconds of the kick off . I found it mildly disheartening. Not the most radical opinion I've posted
That's to do with name calling, nothing to do with my comment, but a good demonstration of another reason I don't post any more.
Sorry you have completely lost me. The original complaint was against somebody using aggressive language - surely ' sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me' is relevant. Sorry for being pedantic.
This isn't 'Sticks and stones'. Robbie twists two words rather than the point I was making that after 3 straight losses both the players and the supporters would have a welcome boost in morale and confidence if we could win. I never said I 'expected' us to win, that's something he twisted so he could make an indignant rant. This is the sort of thing that puts posters off, as canario says.
I'm not justifying what Robbie says but you and I have been on here and the old 606 long enough to know that Robbie is not the first or the worst. Best to ignore it.
I take your point 1950, but if ignoring it means losing posters, it isn't the best alternative. We used to have 3 times as many posters on here
Unfortunately it is a problem with sites like this and we have of course lost many good posters in the past - remember Redruth - for the same reason. Other teams have had the same problem and some of them have gone from quite active to redundant. New posters are hard to find and the number of active Clubs on not606 is decreasing. We used to moan about the strict monitoring on the old 606 but at least the BBC could afford to employ enough monitors to nip this sort of nonsense in the bud.
