Fairly confident he wasn’t their striker either was he? Brobbey normally plays through the middle I think
Played 19 games at AM and 14 at CF at boro played 22 games at CF and 9 games at AM for Ajax last season played 14 at CF and 7 at LW this season for Ajax
I wonder if we would go 442 more often and have Akpom and Isidor upfront with Akpom being the one who’s a bit deeper
mostly off the bench I think shows how far we’ve come mind that 5 months ago we had no ****ing striker and now we don’t want one who’s scored 8 for Ajax in half a season
Isidor up top with Mundle and Roberts wide and Akpom as the 10 would be incredible but also give us a real headache. Because you’ve got 2 to choose from ELF, Jobe and Neil.. ELF hasn’t came to sit on the bench
What I liked about Akpom when he was at Boro was his play in the box. He seemed to come alive in there. He could link play, but once in the box he gained a yard of pace and his positioning was so bloody good. Had the knack of attracting the ball to him. His finishing was so good too, both feet and head. I dont really remember him scoring too many from a distance, was nearly always inside of the penalty spot. I think that is the sort on player we are missing in the squad. Someone to find spaces in the box and pinch goals. I would be really excited by him coming here.
Only played about 1500 minutes of football and I’ve just had a look at a few of their games - they also have Weghorst so he’s defo not been playing much as the CF. I know @CR17 quoted 14 games probably from transfermarkt but I think even that might be too many
I see Akpom up top only personally. In the box where his finishing ia deadly. Let him and Isidor and Mayenda battle it out. Shown we can play two up top as well.
