With Kanga gone, a few injuries coming back and Chambers and Rino excelling in new positions, there looks more balance to the side. If, as has been suggested, JC leaves, LB is possibly an area of weakness with O'Dowda having a hammy. I think two young PL wide men on loan would be the goal. Any time you can sign a player better than you have or who better fits your playing style (tactically we seem to be developing one, even if it isn't a strategic direction), you have to go for it. However, if the right player doesn't come along, we shouldn't sign someone for the sake of it. I'd be disappointed if we didn't sign anyone, but not dismayed. I'll be more than happy with a couple loanees. Win a couple games to take the pressure off and Riza can start renewing the contracts of those we want to keep and start planning for next year.
You wonder what happens with some of these players. He looked great before his injury and came back as one of the first names on the team sheet. Has he changed? Has his attitude changed? Does he just not get on with Riza. Some good players fall by the way side. Ng going the same way. Player of the year to being kept out by someone playing out of position. (Tin hat at the ready. )
Now look here, I know you're looking for a fight but I agree with you. However, I'm not sure if something happens to these players or whether it's a case that they don't look so good as the rest of the team improved. Either way, they have work to do if they want a future at the club. Looking at how the team ethic is developing, players have to decide if they want to be part of it.
I'm sure Ng will be an important player to the end of the season. There have been a few tweaks to how we play that have maybe disadvantaged him. It's also hard to stay at the top of your game week after week, month after month. If Rino got injured he'd be right in there. I'd also be tempted to put him at cb ahead of Chambers. Its competition in all positions we want. There looks good spirit and a togetherness about the squad lately. That'll be a big help in digging us out of this hole.
One from far away suggested by who other than Tan himself - we're bound to get him! Here's a vid - just switch the sound off................
Just read that. 22 with 32 Malaysian caps. A speedy winger no less. In transfer links even further afield, reports in the Far East state Vincent Tan is willing to sign "Malaysian national team starboy" Arif Aiman. Reports in SuperBall state Tan is willing to bring the player described as a "wonderkid" to one of his teams should his current club Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) decide to release him. The publication adds it is unclear for which side Tan would sign the youngster, with Belgian side KV Kortrijk, the Cardiff owner's other team, also mentioned. The 22-year-old, who has won 32 caps for Malaysia, plays as a winger.
These you tube videos are all good and well but just show the good bits. Someone I’m sure could put together one for Kanga
The question I often have is how good are the opposition? With a couple of hi twinkle toe runs he'd have been clobbered in the Championship. Talking about clobbering, Ramasut bigging up Salech and saying how much of a unit he is. It might be him doing the clobbering.
He looked a bit distant at the end. Separated from the main group. Understandable given he'd only been at the club a couple days, didn't know the players that well and probably didn't understand the significance of the game. However, he was quickly in around Omer when things kicked off on the touchline. He was amongst it, heading towards the action, after the final whistle. Good to have a bit of an edge about them. He just needs a goal or two early in his time with us. Tonight would be as good a time as any.
Rumours Etete might be going on loan to a league one club? ps Looking at our bench tonight maybe we do need a few more faces this month?
All quite on the rumour front. I suppose it will be another week until the clamour for PL youngsters on loan starts. A Left (wing) back, a right wing and an attacking CM should see us right. It would be interesting to know who is on the 'Retain' list that Omer discussed with the board. A lot of contracts expiring in the summer. Maybe one or two names that weren't on 'our' list that may have forced themselves in there, possibly at the expense of others. The board need to start preparing the ground for next year and tie a few of these players up. I know they'll be worried about which division we'll be in, but I'm sure contracts could be constructed accordingly. Goutas, Robinson, O'Dowda, Zac Davies and Alnwick would be on my list. Possibly Rino (after recent showing), Ralls and Etete, depending on what else is in the pipeline. Probably not El Ghazi, Meite, Ramsey and Collins. Slightly concerning that we have a whole team of players out of contract in the summer.
Slightly concerning, its a bloody tragedy, why have they left it so late, poor management again or agents trying for money,
Probably related to the time it took to get rid of Bulut, and Riza as temp before appointing him. This is now as important as getting new signings in the window. I would go with Remote's first 5 plus Rino after recent showings. Just shows what a change of manager to one with a positive outlook can do. I think Ralls and Etete now have 4 months to prove they are worth another deal with Etete likely to be out on loan. It will be a big ask for both.

He needs to play but with only Robo, Salech and Meite as recognised strikers until Izaak returns (if he does) and with Reindorf touted as going on loan, we could be a bit thin for cover up top in the event of injuries/suspensions.
