You mean like the Palace game was? At times like these I'd love a backup striker with presence - a target man who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. We rely too much on one type of player up front.
Apparently we have a kid in the U21s, Jake Evans, who bangs them in for fun ... Think we should also give the 'exceptional talent' that is Jeremy Monga a taster ...
It's critical to me. The OH is a Fulham fan and has been very smug over all their recent victories. I'm retaliating with our list of actual trophies v Fulham's 0 but I could desperately do with something on Saturday. *Desperate measures outlined below. In all honesty, I'm not hopeful but they've failed to beat Ipswich, Everton, Southampton and Wolves... *I've put money on a Fulham win and hidden the 'lucky FFC match day socks'
Are we lacking leaders on the pitch? The general opinion from Wednesday's match is that we didn't turn up for the second half. We either need a leader on the pitch along the lines of Gerry Taggart or Steve Walsh who has confidence in his own ability to call out the players who aren't performing or, if we don't have that type of player, then we need a more vocal manager on the sidelines to get his point across. The whole team can't just hide or we will be relegated with a whimper. We need a leader and someone who can get the crowd behind the team. When you are struggling, the last thing you want to see is the crowd leaving early. The team needs the crowd behind them, but they have to offer something for them to cheer about and a reason to believe.
So the last three home league games, Wolves, Palace and Fulham, where we really needed 7 points if we’re being honest, we’ve got 0 without scoring a goal. We’re obviously going nowhere under Ruud, even QPR were the better team up till we went 2-1 up last week. We’re still only a couple of wins from getting out the bottom three but I can’t see us managing that with Ruud in charge. Do we sack him now? Still only about 10 games in to his reign so people will say we didn’t give him a chance I know, but I can’t see a win coming, he has no experience of a relegation battle and only 3 premier league games experience as Man Utd caretaker boss, whoever deemed him a good fit shouldn’t make decisions regarding a football club. Dyche is now available, his football isn’t great to watch but at least we’d show some desire and battle. In my opinion, if we stick with Ruud, Southampton will overtake us before long.
At the minute we could appoint Pep (prime Pep) and I'd still not have any confidence that we'd be any better.
Think we need to be completely honest - here's my take: Hermandsen - would keep - but he is a monetary asset we might need to sell due to the anti-competion regulations Stolarcyk - very promising - keep Iversen - solid - would keep as No1 spot competition Ward - sell - whatever we can get Justin - would keep - there is a player in there and he really is still recovering from those horrendous injuries - could see him being best in a back 3 eventually with much better centre halves than we have Couliballly - obviously keep Kristiansen - again would keep as he shows for Denmark he can be good with the right structure Thomas - sell - pure profit and will never be first choice Coady - sell - not up to Prem Vestergaard - sell not up to Prem level as lacks mobility Okoli - might be good with better partner(s) but probably sell as there is European interest Souttar - would like to have seen him given a chance Faes - sell - calamity Jane Winks - probably sell - not creative enough Skipp - see Winks Soumare - sell - has some interest from abroad - been disappointing overall Ndidi - sell - time-up Choudhry - sell - see Thomas El Khanouss - keep if we can Buenanotte - would keep but not ours De Cordova-Reid - sell - journeyman Ayew - sell - journeyman Daka - sell - interest from abroad but would keep over Ayew and B DCR. Vardy - love him but needs to now be used as an impact sub when defences are tired Cannon - would have given him a run ...but OK - take the small profit Mavididi- keep for now - not entirely convincing at this level - yet Futawu - keep - if fully recovers could be a fine prospect McAteer - keep for now - still got potential Not bothering with other academy lads as they need to given their chance
Can't disagree. The main issue is finding a buyer for a lot of those. Ward's contract is up in June so we'll not get anything for him - not sure who would actually pay anyway!
Feeling very glum, much worse than two seasons ago. We have 10 days to pull a couple of rabbits out of a hat, but no magician
Apparently it is because he was only brought in to cover and that player is better and has returned now
Fabulous????? Sounds more like someone has been making bad decisions. Can't carry on running a business like that.
...well you can - if you're willing to absorb the loss yourself as owner - just means your investment is diluted - but if the whole stadium area development goes ahead, the real estate value of the asset will grow...
Is any development of the stadium likely to go ahead when we are facing relegation? Even if we were to survive this season I wouldn't see extending the stadium as making much economic sense if we can't find sustained success on the pitch. With our uncertain style of play we have been left behind by too many teams in this league. Are we likely to attract more fans if we are bobbing along in the bottom half of the table? If we get relegated then we will need to spend to ensure we come straight back up. Taking into account the way the club has gone downhill over the last 3 seasons and how the board has been sleeping on the job while this happened I find it very difficult to foresee things suddenly taking an upturn. There have been too many bad decisions and poor leadership from the top. Big changes are required at the club. I'm afraid I don't have a pair of those rose coloured spectacles, Fosse.
Chicken and egg - KP is a sell out (subject to away fans) in the Prem and could easily sustain another 10k - other developments- hotel / music venue and hospitality would also increase sustainable revenues that would all help with PSR / FFP ... thereby facilitating investment in team etc
