Rwandan native Alphonse Rudakubana was a member of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (the regime that now runs Rwanda), who arrived in this country in 2002. The person indicted on 16 October 1997 by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda was Alphonse Nteziryayo, who served nearly 18 years of a 25 year sentence, being released in 2016. There is no record of Alphonse Rudakubana being indicted, tried or acquitted. There has been no extradition proceeding against Rudakubana so Starmer could not have represented him. Rudakubana’s 18 year old son Alex was born in this country so he is not an immigrant.
