I have this horrible feeling that he will be the sacrificial lamb at some point

Remember when you would sit and watch deadline day on skysports, with a real sense that we'd sign someone.

The player will want the move somewhere down the line and then it'll happen.

The first one ever for us was the one ekitike rejected us and we landed Targett.

I suspect we're the only or one of very few fanbases that have never seen their club do anything even remotely exciting in any deadline day since it's creation.

The only one I can ever really remember was the one where we signed that Uruguay fella, was it Nacho. Then KK left <laugh>

9 days to go and basically its going to be a non event. We might get some out the door ( although that seems harder than ever) but we wont sign anyone. I really dont understand what our directors are doing day to day. All we need is 50 x £1M multi year sponsorship deals and the PL cant touch them. How cant Peter S and PIF not get this sorted, it so simple

Honestly, I don't even hold out any hope that the Summer will be any different either.

Unless we are regularly in the champions league then I can see him going maybe end of next season, would be some cash for a rebuild though however replacing would be tough

Maybe, but we should have enough cash anyway from releasing players and flogging Dubs, Wilson, Almiron, Kelly. Assuming Howe will ever lets these sales happen.

Think that's the first post you've made where you haven't mentioned Barnes <laugh>

My personal all-time favourite for excitement was when the club solved our striker crisis by 'splashing out' (on a free transfer) to secure the services of world-beater Shefki Kuqi. That was worth the anxious transfer window wait. He was then given the #42 shirt in honour of his age at the time.

It's probably good that everyone reminds themselves of such great times.

Some lad on Twitter, most likely bullshit, reckons we're working on a swap deal with Juventus. We get Douglas Luiz and they get Lloyd Kelly <laugh><laugh><laugh>

If they can wheel and deal the **** players out I'd be happy. Replacing them isn't as important

We've not been given much to get excited about in the last few windows. Very little activity. No word on the stadium either.
Very little communication from senior management since Mandy left.
