Don't be daft, the game was a battle against a tough team and we did exactly what we needed to do,

Patterson, O'Nien, Mepham, Hume, Cirkin, etc all played well.

RLB made the right substitutions at the right time and we weathered their little storm.

Not every game can be a technical chess game of a match.

If that was the case, why didn't he put his flag up? There was no action from the linesman and the referee was walking back to the centre circle. **** them both we still won!

They shouldn't have been an especially tough team though. Lousy run and stacks of injuries.

ELF did fine I thought. Rigg didn’t though. Just left us stodgy with no ball-carrying threat on the right. Then when he switched back to a 4-3-3 he somehow managed to push Mayenda wide left. I assume it was to get ELF central but it still left Rigg playing wide right. Also stymied Mayenda. Odd choice and contributed to the pressure we invited. Still we had good chances, and competent officiating would have seen us comfortable.

edit: should say I thought Rigg did okay - just painfully out of position till after the subs.

I doubt it, a striker getting a goal ruled out will discount it entirely. I'm not saying his confidence is shot or anything, he could do with calming down a bit though and the goal would have helped.

I generally shrug of bad decisions but that was way beyond human error. Who made the decision to disallow it cos it wasn't the ref or lino. It wasn't a foul by Isidor and the ref never gave that and was standing there right beside it. It wasn't offside as the linesman never flagged and ran back towards halfway line.as if goal. So has a fourth official overruled everyone and disallowed the goal which in itself is a complete joke and surely not right. Questions need to be asked.

Of course not. We have derby far too much ball in the second half.

I don't think we played well as many many others on here have said.

    Buzzing with the 3 points.

Never seen out like that in football, how the hell can the goal get ruled out, Isidor was NOT offside for starters, no flag went up so you cannot dissalow the goal, amatures in charge in the championship that nearly cost us as well, great win though you never know can we make the top 2.the ref was bullied by the derby player so dissallowed it. this needs to be looked at if that had been the Mags or Man C there would be hell on.

Intentionally stayed out of this thread for the whole game and haven’t read it so not sure if my sentiments are shared by others.

Thought Neil was very good. As was Mepham.

The 4-4-2 didn’t really work despite it being how we scored our goal. No width but also less support for Neil and Jobe in the middle.

I actually thought the subs were good tonight. Ballard coming on was much needed and Samed was also tidy in the end.

Will take a “not that great” 1-0 win every day of the week

We play very narrow. Nothing really coming from the wings. Some lovely play but we aren't making that many real chances. Problem is our midfielders are so good they can't be dropped.

We played the game we needed to against that kind of opposition ...

... that's what wins games, not always insisting on playing the way you want.
