Well with news that Chelsea have granted both Anelka and Alex transfer requests. Manchester City have to shift at least 20 of there professionals by the summer 2012. Portsmouth have appointed an Agent to clear out there saleable assets.......Kitson, Lawrence, Norris, Halford to name but 4 of them. Many other PL clubs will be allowing squad players to leave either for good or on loan. WHY IS THERE SUCH AN OBSESSION WITH FANS THINKING HULL CITY PLAYERS WILL GO ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ comments and posts please......................
Good point FT, most clubs are now having to be more prudent, even Man City will have to start to get their books in order to meet the new financial regulations coming in.
CORRECT. Thats why i think that there will be many bargains come January time. The Pompey situation looks very grave indeed. I wonder if Nigel Pearson will make a move for say Anelka ? well afterall they do have money to burn we are all told. The Ladyboys have cash to splash. Lol.
My Players I would like City sign are: - Billy Sharp (Not going to happen) - Greg Halford - Would add some height and defensive cover, as well as versatile to play in midfield - Jordan Rhodes although I do think he will be expensive - Pogba and send Brady back - Jobi McAnuff or Jimmy Kebe Think we need some experience figures as last season we burnt out towards the last 6-7 games.
The Allams said NB will have millions available in January, I wonder how many millions that will be??
Greg halford always looks absolutely dreadful apart from when he plays against us. A goalkeeper has to be first priority, if only to provide a bit more certainty and stability.
Man city arent in as much of rush to get rid as others since the owners started boosting all the sponsorship to ridiculous levels
Yes I think the big boys like Man City will find away around these new regs. They have the new academy thing fiddle something on and the naming of the stadium etc etc
Luke Steele, Jordan Rhodes/Billy Sharp and another winger, as Brady will go, possibly Mame Biram Diouf, Ravel Morrison or Paul Pogba.
I don't see why Brady would go. He's not played well enough to go up a league, and I can't see why he'd want to go anywhere else in this league. He should be concentrating on getting back into our team when his ban is over.
I'd go for De Vries if OLM's knowledge is true. That'd give us stability in goal. Defense I think we are cooking on gas, we're alright there and have cover for every position. Midfield; if Brady leaves and his loan is not extended, I'd go in for Jonny Hayes at Inverness, he wouldn't cost too much and is only 23/24. Ravel Morrison would also be decent, as would Pogba. Striker: With Fryatt back on form, Diouf would be perfect alongside him. I don't know what all this stuff about needing a target man has come from, it doesn't look like NB uses one in his tactics. Sordell wouldn't be a bad shout from Watford. But with workhorse Mclean, I don't think an awful lot needs to change up front.
we need to add a couple players maximum but players who won't disrupt the hierarchy and balance in the team... we don't want a playmaker who will shadow robbie koren (a young one possibly for next year) ... we don't want strikers who will leave fryatt on the bench, just when he's gaining a bit of form/confidence... I'm not saying the team can;t be improved right now but I think we need to be clever. get another young player who won't mind being on the bench while getting his way through the starting line-up. I saw fryatt and mclean seem to have a really good bond (after matty scored penalty) I wouldn't want to break that by forcing one to be benched. Whoever we get needs to be back up and hopefully grow into a very good player
as we have a solid base/team right now I would prefer to get a couple players on loan from PL clubs , who we won't necessarily sign at the end of the season but players who can have a big impact for the push (with likely injuries etc...) inda like FC... p
I agree with this, actually, apart from in goal; we desperately need a new goalie and one of our own. I think we will revisit our feeder club so that the applecart remains well and truly upright.
