Agreed. I don't think people understood how bad Mundle's Hamstring Strain was. A pure grade 3 rupture. Serious stuff. Will need wrapping in cotton wool and managed very carefully. He is an explosive lad and it's going to have to be immaculate in terms of rehab before he lets full blast into reactive sprint.
As a man that’s just gone back to work after a grade two tear of the quadricep, I fully agree. Not very fun.
Didn’t realise it was that bad to be honest, maybes we look to get Watson back first and ease mundle back? No need to risk it pinging again
Look how long it's taken to even say he is a month away. You literally have someone who broke his leg get back to more serious training in quicker time. I would be very careful with getting him back into full training. Levels of intensity are going to have be incredibly graduated. I wouldn't be rushing him back as of it goes again it's a season ender. Not saying the club are btw. Just trying to give some perspective to the length of time he has been out etc.
No wonder they’ve been hush about that. The reality is we should be bringing in a left winger, even on loan til end of the season and just give Mundle the rest of the season off.
He's a good one on one defender - but even according to derby fans is probably the worst on the ball defender in the league, zero composure and just makes horrible decisions. Probably the opposite of what a CB in a Hürzeler system would be imo.
It's a tough one, as Mundle might be totally fine when he returns Totally agree with @Prehab26 that we will need to manage his return effectively, however, that doesn't mean he won't return and play a big part this season I wouldn't mind a loan signing who can cover LM but I don't want a specialist LM to come in, we have enough cover there and the priority has to be someone on the RM to challenge Roberts
Mundle is a good age to get this injury I'd day. Old enough that he's grown into his frame, young enough to heal amd recover sufficiently. If we can get Watson fit we can take out time with Mundle
Absolutely. I am not saying that he is out for the season! However, I am just providing context why it's been this long so far and still a bit away.
And I don't mind the cover we have there in the mean time, with Mayenda, Aouchiche, Le Fee to some degree. However it does feel a bit stop-gap and like we are functioning at 90% efficiency while we wait, I'm glad we are seemingly being smart about it but it is always slightly disheartening when the teams around you get an injury and bring in someone like BBD to plug the gap - feels like we'd start being left behind to some degree but I have faith that we have enough about us to keep up the chase and make a final push towards the latter stages with everyone back.
That's why i'd be happy with Louie Barry on loan, I can't see mundle featuring much this season at all, he can also play multiple positions too
Yeah I mean like I say I'm still torn on it, Tommy comes back and can replicate the levels he was able to put up just before his injury then I think we'd be fine and would rather us do that than stunt his development. But... Surely if we want to go for it it's a safer bet to bring someone in short term ♂️. Really not sure.
Think we can cope with winger cover with Watson, Poveda and Mundle on the recovery trail. (Poveda I know...). For me it's Full back and Stirker where we need to bring new personnel.
