Then you'll love Skeg Vegas mate. The world's coldest and windiest beach. Surrounded by assorted chavs from all over the north and a fair ground where I'm 99% convinced will have at least 2 fatalities in the next couple of years. You can get different flavour whippy ice cream though which I've never seen anywhere else
That seems very specific, did you remove a bolt from the Wild Mouse when you were there? I recall Southsea Wild Mouse always felt and sounded highly dangerous … which added an extra thrill to the ride Ref Smeg Vegas, one of Dorset Punk-Folkies Skimmerty Hitchers most well known tunes is Viva Lyme Regis
The wealth of the world’s billionaires grew by $2tn (£1.64tn) in 2024, three times faster than in 2023, amounting to $5.7bn a day, according to a report by Oxfam The UK has the highest proportion of billionaire wealth derived from “monopolies and cronyism”among G7 countries … So that’s good news then
I wasn't sure at the time I invested my billion into a HSBC Super Saver it was the right thing to do. But it seems to be paying off.
Rupert Lowe having any hand in healthcare provision should immediately put a tingle down the spine of any Southampton resident. At least the catering would be World Class though.
Any predictions for the next 36-48 hours? I reckon the Governments carefully orchestrated toadying and eggshell walking will be blown to smithereens as Trump insults Starmer and Lammy at his first mention of the UK and despite reports to the contrary we will be slapped with tariffs on one of his day one executive orders (alongside a whole host of other countries). He will use tariffs as a starting point of negotiations for whatever he wants (Want to get rid of these? What are you going to give me in return etc). Also immediate cessation of any support for Ukraine.
Free at the time use but according to this https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-analysis/data-and-charts/nhs-budget-nutshell# "The vast majority of public NHS funding comes from general taxation and National Insurance contributions. A small proportion of funding (1% of the total Department of Health and Social Care budget in 2022/23) comes from patient charges for services such as prescriptions and dental treatment."
Southport killer changes plea and goes guilty at final hour including to a terror charge and possessing ricin. Good that it'll spare the trial as that wouldn't have been nice for the families. Surely a whole life term coming up? Apparently he was referred to prevent multiple times due to a fascination of violence.
Butlins Skegness 70s and 80s weekends are OK. Esp' if you want to grab a (tipsy) granny and see lots of bands which have one original member (or possibly a cousin) in their lineup. I've never quite recovered from watching the Bay City Rollers "bound" on stage last year.
The BBC say he can't be given a whole life term because he's under 21. His mug shot is quite the image though and he sounds like a really twisted, scary individual. From the little bits I've read it's hard to see how he can ever be allowed to walk free. Apparently he tried to return to the school he was expelled from a week before the actual attack but was stopped by his father. That's terrifying. If he'd attacked a school things could have been even worse. please log in to view this image
Didn't know that. Can do basically the same thing if he issues each life sentence to run consecutively rather than concurrently though presumably? Yeah his eyes look incredibly evil. Will be a shambles if he's ever allowed to walk free. Hopefully somebody gets to him in prison anyway. It is terrifying how much worse it could have been. It's remarkable really that there weren't more deaths as it is. More I read it really feels like this could and maybe even should have been prevented. Awful.
Not sure about hardly ever? Any statistics to back that up? Pretty sure the judge has it in his power to if he wants? He will need to sentence for 16 individual crimes and life is possible for most of them. A 40 year minimum isn't enough imo.
The dangerous narcissist and his cult will be in control of the world's most powerful economy and military shortly. Good night and good luck, everybody!
Well I haven't got any stats but virtually every time I see someone sentenced for multiple convictions, the judge sets the sentences to run concurrently. But hopefully this case is severe enough to warrant consecutive life sentences. We'll see.
It's a long time since I worked in that area but from memory his release will also be dependent on parole board approval and risk assessments by probation officers and possibly psychiatrists. If he gets a 40 year minimum they don't HAVE to release him after 40 years. Based on what I've read he doesn't seem likely to be remorseful or deemed low risk.
