Move on because I don’t think he will win a trophy, and won’t qualify for Europe again this season.

Wait until end of season, review and then decide.

Since I don't want to be a boring bastard I will give an answer based on what I think today <whistle>

I like to consider myself Mr. Consistent on this topic in that I have been calling for a manager change for a bit of time and tend to not let a run of form suddenly change my opinion every 5 games. If we win a trophy I will want the manager to stay for as long as he pleases - winning a trophy is by far the most important thing for me before anything else.

As of this moment I do not think we will win a trophy under Eddie Howe, another LC final defeat will be devastating.

The change of manager should only be done if we are actually finding a trophy winning manager with pedigree currently managing at the top level. If we can't attract that then we don't need another mid table coach to have a pop at the job.

It's been my opinion on the subject for ages, but I have for the longest time been fully aware the majority do not agree and want to maintain the current coach, so I simply see no point banging on about it.

    I think that's spot on.

i would add that even a new manager with real pedigree for winning silverware should probably be another year away from now, when hopefully we are in a better position with funding and transfer leeway. No point bringing in one of Europe's elite managers and telling him he can choose between Murphy and Miggy for RW. Most of the top managers want to build their own squads quickly.

I think a top manager will only come in when our response to transfers is "sure, let them name a price" and not "well we will have to see" we have established a good base right now and the roots of the squad are strong but as I said to GG when he was on a high after a win - we still need a larger more adaptable squad. We are paper thin, we are tactically stiff and we are just not able to meaningfully change games often enough.

Tactically I think Howe is an average manager, we are one of the worst clubs in the league for set pieces, I just don't see this improving at all. But coaching, he's probably the best out and out coach to manage the club.

This is a very fair comment.

I think everyone knows my stance on Howe. I think he’s a good manager. I don’t think he’s elite.

But there are so many things going against us.

Bournemouth destroyed us and yet they are going through a mini injury crisis akin to ours last season.

Yet they managed to adapt and practically destroy us.

Howe doesn’t have the capacity to adapt. He’s one dimensional so when it goes right it looks brilliant but when it goes wrong it’s horrific.

I've said before that if the owners are happy continually being safe from relegation and with pushing for a possible European place then Eddie is the man for the job. For the club to move to the next level, I don't believe that Eddie is the bloke to get us there. For starters he seems to be too loyal to certain players who should be moved on. I'm not slagging him off or owt, I think he is a very good coach/manager but he's not the "elite" boss that clubs need to win major trophies.
I'd love to be proven wrong by the way....

If we win the league cup he will be one of most successful managers ever and should be given tons of time.

However in reality we will probably end up playing Liverpool on the final and get beat 2-0.

That’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

Knowing our luck, the sequence of events will actually be:
    - our fans hound Eddie out
    - Eddie replaces Ange at Spurs
    - Spurs beat us in the final
    - Eddie lifts the cup and waves it at us

In a ****ed up way, I’m quite glad that game against Bournemouth happened. I feel our team get to carried away after a few wins and think all they need to do is turn up and rely on confidence.

it was bound to happen us getting a bit of a hiding wether it be Bournemouth or someone else. I’m glad it’s out the way and the players can come back down to reality and realise no game in the PL is awarded to you, every game is a battle, a fight.

let’s hope we put the wrongs, right against Southampton.

If we win the league cup obviously continue, if we don't, maybe think about the manager to take us to the next level.

Although this season is obviously going very well right now.

This season could be great or a bit ****..

We could win two cups and qualify for the CL, or win nowt and not get Europe, all in the balance.

It's up to Eddie to take the next step (a trophy basically), he and the players need to step up in the crunch games of the season, instead of folding like the last LC final.

If he does, obviously he stays, if not, we might have to look elsewhere.

Huge second half of the season for all concerned.

    Yes basically this.

As someone else said the Bournemouth result might indeed be a blessing and a big back down to earth kind of shock.

Bournemouth fans saying it’s the best performance from them in years. Which I agree they were impressive.

Semenyo making it clear that they identified that when our GK plays it to a defender they know we will take time on the ball so instigated the high press.

We also sit deeper because our CB are so bloody slow.

I think that he can be a brilliant manager. He just isn't ruthless enough to be a top manager.

    We will get Europe.

I'd think that in Eddie Howe's psyche that every day's a school day. So he'll know that some hard decisions along the way need to be made.
If he can't make those decisions, somebody else as manager will.

He will get us into Europe again. I think we will win the League Cup if we get through. When he gets things right he really does get it right.

What doesn't help is the lack of signings to bolster the squad.
