Lange is doing him a disservice one way or another If he's working on bringing in players but is doing so in secrecy, he's creating the impression the club aren't bringing in players which only serves to make it look like we're looking for an excuse to sack Ange On the other hand, if he's not looking for players - or is looking for player for who he expects to be in place by the end of the transfer window - it's going to look like the club were looking for an excuse to sack Ange and he gave the club one
Worth mentioning there are now three notable times where a Spurs manager changed their usual system to play 3ATB - Redknapp did in the FA Cup against Stevenage, and it was a ****show - Poch did in the run-in during the 2016-17 season, and we went on a run of wins - Ange did against Everton today, and it was a ****show Starting to look like a majority there...
Craziest thing is Levy’s looking to potentially buck his trend with completely the wrong manager. I know there’s some good shouts like Santini, Nuno due to their short stints but in terms of someone who’s had a semi respectable time limit now, he’s got to be one of the worst, if not the worst we’ve had in the last 20+ years . Everything about Ange is so painfully amateur and naive, it’s bonkers how he’s still in the job tbh.
I was thinking the same earlier. When you look at what was apparently enough to earn Poch the sack and compare it to what Ange is pulling, it beggars belief and only makes sense if there has been a massive lowering of standards from top down, which very well may be true. Ange is down there with Gross, Santini, Sherwood and Ramos as one of the worse managers I've seen in my lifetime.
If he was sacked right now, For me he’s the worst manager I’ve seen at Spurs in my lifetime. Everything about him is a red flag. Levy just might give him until the end of the season though as soon as Ange is removed, all eyes will rightly be focused on the ownership.
I had expunged Christian from my memory up until this point. Painful times I prefer not to recall.......
well i genuinely think he should stay. but then again its cause i like him more than because i think his tactics are right.
I really don't know if we should stick or twist with Ange. The only positive I can find is the rapid development of a few of our younger players. In Moore, Bergvall and Gray I think we have, possibly, potentially, 3 world class players. Ange has had terrible luck with injuries albeit some injuries maybe due to the way his teams play. BUT if we sack him who do we get in? I can't see anyone available now who we would want. Perhaps our options are stick with him or it's Mason time till the end of the season when others maybe available.
Yeah horrible dark times. This season is heading up to be just as bad though. I’m genuinely worried that in less something happens, this is gonna be a relegation battle.
If we believe Besiktas' president, Edin Terzic Makes sense on paper, as he plays a similar formation to Ange but with a much better structure to it - though to make his system work the midfield would need to be overhauled fast
Already in it for me, the only saving grace is the awfulness of the current bottom trio. Big game coming up Sunday....
I agree 100%... Ange needs time & new blood in the team... we saw today the difference when Richy and Moore came on.. few more players returning from injury will hopefully give the regular players a bit of a breather. Mentally alot of our players look shattered and when you make mistakes on the pitch the confidence goes. I know it's on Ange to manage all this but it is an exceptionally strange time with all the injuries in the squad and Bentancurs suspensions etc. He can't be responsible for chances missed on the pitch, like Sonny had 2 decent opportunities today. This comes back to quality investment on the pitch which we haven't seen from Levy so I think the buck well and truly stops with him.
Saddest thing is those player’s developments have only come because of the injuries. Go back to when we had a full squad and for around 8 leagues on the bounce Gray and Bergvall didn’t even get on the pitch. Today Moore came on and helped influence the game. He almost certainly wouldn’t have got on if any of Werner, Johnson or Solanke were fit. And arguably our best player today was a guy he omitted from the Europa League squad, didn’t even start in the first league cup game and is now only playing him out of sheer desperation. As @KingHotspur has said in recent days, Ange may not be the problem but he’s certainly a problem. I’m firmly of the opinion he is quite possibly the worst manager we’ve had in the last 20+ years, couple that with an inept hierarchy and we’re getting a side that’s closing in on the relegation spots. If the choice is indeed Ange or Mason, I’d go with Mason all day long right now. I’d twist on just about any option if it means getting him out the club.
