Yet again we got very little airtime on the ITV highlights
While other teams in the division are playing exciting, attacking football with loads of goalmouth action, we don’t seem to be creating many chances let alone taking any of them

Manning talks a better game than even Lee Johnson.
At least Junior said it with feeling.

I have really gone off Manning......the gutless game at PNE last season, and now Blackburn, Derby, Pompey and Coventry this season shows we, and Manning in particular, are just flattering to deceive.

The trouble is, even in the unlikely scenario that he’s sacked, the club would just replace him with someone equally devoid of any idea of how to improve us
And yes, I know he’s restrained by what the owners will, or won’t spend
But look at Oxford. You can say it’s a dead cat bounce, but Gary Rowett knows this division
    If only…..

Manning won’t be sacked - and to be honest, sacking the manager when we are top half of the table would be a highly questionable move - on a par with Bournemouth CORRECTION: Birmingham (thanks RP) sacking Eustace last season.
I honestly can’t see a ‘proven’ manager coming to us. As Angelic says, the best we could hope for would be another LJ or Manning type ‘learning his trade’, so it would be back to square 1.
Who would want to work under a Jon Lansdown/Brian Tinnion regime? Apprentices, that’s who - or managers who haven’t had a chance at the second tier yet.

Agreed R&W and as frustrating as some of the performances and rhetoric have been, we are only a few points off the play offs. A place in the playoffs is there for the taking this season, if only we hadn't missed so many opportunities to gather more points.

How on earth can we expect any decent manager or players to come to our outfit when it must be blatantly obvious to one and all that we are a totally dysfunctional football club who have an owner who has control issues that will never go away. Giving too much power to those who don't deserve it is a fast track to disharmony and I think our team and it's hierarchy need a beginners lesson on how to operate a successful club that has desires to compete at every level and we haven't even passed the entrance exam yet. To all of those who have followed Bristol City for decades are well versed in the constant failings that surround Ashton Gate and the TV coverage and lack of interest in us by highlight coverage tells me they don't rate us on any kind of scale. Sad but so true I regret and we know that it won't be the last time we fall flat on our face because it's one thing we actually do very well. :emoticon-0136-giggl

I meant Birmingham - of course - but I typed Bournemouth.
I can’t explain that. Must be my age.
I read your reply RP and it took me a few minutes to suss what you meant by your reply because I was so convinced I typed what I meant <yikes>

    I respectfully disagree Supcon.
I don’t think we should sack Manning as I’ve said above - it would be madness when we are top half of the table and within a few games of a playoff place.
BUT - if the unthinkable did happen (and it HAS happened before with Pearson) - then I’d take Warnock without question.
Dinosaur? Maybe, but that crafty old bird knows how to take ‘unfashionable’ teams to the promised land and has the trophies to prove it.
I’d also go as far as to say that he gets a team to play to their STRENGTHS, so if they are a bunch of very physical guys without much ball skill then he will get them playing hoofball - to great effect. We are NOT a physical side so he’d have to find another way - and I really believe he could.
Anyway, it won’t happen - Manning is here for a while longer and has my full support.
