interesting article on BBC sport over the last week about a company who links players up with obscure nations globally to improve their football teams, picking non league players with tongan or Samoan heritage for example and getting them in contact with local FAs, along side databases from football manager and a like it's no longer a shock to see lower level players representing smaller nations globally
selles said after the game that basically giles and longman are gone and its why they werent in the squad in other words what about omur?
Well either he’s injured or he’s not. If he’s not injured the he’s either staying or leaving. I think you’ll find I’m 100% accurate in my statement.
I honestly think Acun's unable to let him or Sinik go as it would be a huge embarrassment for him. You'd think that Omur has at least some pedigree to command a decent fee from a Turkish side though.
We have had a player who was born in Argentina, though he was an Australian national. And subsequently an Australian prisoner.
Sincil Bank was my first away ground also. 0-0 in the League cup I think (as we played them in the league the same week). Fashanu was his usual dirty **** self and injured Norman. An untalented twat that never untwatted during his overlong football and TV career.
Omur is only 25 and has two and a half years on his contract. It's possible he would leave if the manager said he wasn't in his plans (though his injury has probably put paid to a move this window), but I think he's exactly the type of player Selles likes and he'll want to have a proper look at him once he's fit again. Players like him aren't the type of player to lift a team, they play well when the team has confidence. Because we were so **** under TW and our midfield was non-existent, he just looked like a passenger. Sinik actually came with a pretty big profile in Turkey and although it's likely he'll be moved on, he's probably a better out and out winger than Kamara in terms of ability (though Kamara clearly has more potential) so would probably be playing were it not for his perpetual injury status.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Millwall will be where he ends up, as they've just lost Esse and looked proper ****e yesterday without a direct winger on both sides. Watmore was okay, but the lad playing on the other side was terrible.
Unusual, Sorba has only missed one game and started on the bench once only. He has pretty much been ever present in the Nantes side - also got two assists in the last game against Monaco.
Good point. In a relegation 6 pointer they’ve thrown an 18 year old who’s barely played in over him. Hopefully getting ready for his exit
You’d have to be batshit crazy to send a talented player like Barry to Millwall, he’ll have far better options.
