Legend. Didn't get to see him play in his time but the highlights vids I've seen he looks so graceful and languid, scored and set up some amazing goals and was captain of '82's legendary Brazil side. Not only this, but he was very vocal in the campaign to bring down Brazil's military dictatorship founding the official Democracy Movement at his club Corinthians, and by all accounts was a very intelligent man.

Know very little of him, but sounds like a right character from what people are saying. (epitomized by the fact I had a ssumed this news must be nearly two and a half thousands years old, until I thought a little more)

RIP Socrates, best wishes to his family.

Didn't get to see him play but i know a bit about him. His goal-scoring record for an attacking midfielder was class and he was intelligent, becoming a doctor of medicine.

    Great player. R.I.P. Socrates <rose>

Oi. Unacceptable. Man made mistakes but that's harsh.

Never saw him play but seems a real legend of the game and for having a role in bringing down the dictatorship... you have to doff your cap to him. R.I.P.

To be honest, I would've if I hadn't just read it now. Bang out of order to make that sort of comment about someone who has just died, but at the same time, you shouldn't be using it for point scoring purposes.
