After defeat in the FA Cup third round, Norwich City return to Championship action with a trip to face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday, January 18 (KO 3pm). Norwich have taken 10 points from their last four Championship fixtures, starting 2025 with two wins - away at Luton Town and in dramatic style at home to Coventry City.

Squad update
Dobbin - IN - Started the cup tie at Brighton, now in line for his first league start
Sargent - IN - JHT has said he will start one game this week, either this or midweek v Leeds
Doyle - IN - Recovered from knock in Brighton cup game

Cordoba - OUT - knee injury
Forson - OUT - 1 week - knock from Brighton cup game
Forsyth – OUT - 1-2 weeks - knee - Had a set back, had an injection
Sorensen - OUT - 1-2 weeks calf injury
Nunez - OUT - 3-4 weeks hamstring injury
Slimane - OUT - 3--5weeks - Ankle ligaments
Gibbs - OUT - 4-5 weeks with a reoccurrence of the hamstring issue that took him out from the start of the season.
Jurasek - OUT - New signing cannot be registered until Feb 3rd
Sainz - Suspended - This is game 2/6
Hanley - SOLD - Moved to Birmingham City today

Quite an unbelievable amount of injuries to our central midfield options again, 6 out of the 8 senior options ruled out. JHT has said "There will be two or three players that will be on the bench for the first time this season." If we want to continue with the 3 in midfield the only real options are Mclean, Marcondes and Schwartau/Fisher.

The Opposition
Sheffield United are showing no hangover after finishing bottom of the Premier League last season. They've cemented their place among the top three since a 2-0 win against Blackburn Rovers in early November. Just Burnley and Leeds are ahead of them, one point separating all three, while there is an eight-point gap from fourth-placed Sunderland down to Rovers in fifth.

The Manager
Chris Wilder
Chris Wilder was reintroduced to the club for his second spell as manager after also having two stints at Bramall Lane as a player. He was unable to keep them away from relegation last year but will now be hoping to seal a second promotion to the top tier having guided them from League One to the Premier League in his first managerial spell.

Positive vibes!!!

ON THE BALL CITY!!!

This weeks games are a free hit for me given the level of opposition and how injury depleted we are. Excited to see if some of the youngsters can give a good account of themselves

Marcondes pushed over off the ball needlessly.

Then Crnac chopped to the ground completely off the ball again.

Referee ignored both and instead gave Marcondes a talking to.

Clear effort here to bully some of our players
