Yeah I think we’re at a stage now where we need to be thinking about putting our best team out, not developing players. Rigg has had a few really good games but he’s gone missing much more than the others, especially the midfielders. ELF has to come in and it’ll be Rigg who drops to the bench. Rigg is obviously a talent don’t think anyone will deny that but he’s not at the level of Neil or Bellingham just yet and we can’t afford to carry 5/10 or 6/10 performances most weeks waiting for that one 9/10 and a moment of magic when we’re in serious contention for automatics. Bring him on last 25 and let him run rings around tiring opposition players
We all know we've got a good side, trouble is that they're all kids that can only get better! We've given every team who's above us a game and haven't deserved to lose any one of them. Burnley have been lucky tonight and they know it. We've deserved to beat Sheffield Utd home AND away. Even Leeds at home didn't really hurt us during 90 mins and we got a point from that and only have them to play away out of the top 4. We're not out of this automatic promotion chase and it's still in our own hands. Tonight was disappointing but we've not been beaten. We can still get into those top 2 positions in the games left, we've got some great players in this team, a coach who this time last year we never heard of this got the team playing the way he wants. We get the players in who can make a difference to get us over the line. We can all be proud of this team no matter what, the fights not over yet! Haway the lads!!!!
I fully expected them to score after the first pen miss tbh, and a few months ago they might have, but I don’t think Burnley even had a sniff and we should have scored 2 more. Definitely becoming stronger
they are only one with bid accepted can’t see him turning down personal terms if the supposed to be offering him £50k a week
I don’t think you have ever stepped on a football field if you think the words greed and unprofessional are horrible comments. Many players are greedy during any given game and many can also be unprofessional in moments. I’ve not said anything personal about Isidor and have praised his season overall. I’m just not happy with his decision to take the second penalty, and that’s as far as my criticism goes.
Sad to see a lad who cares be distraught at having two penalties SAVED. Hope to see him score a penalty (or a goal that matters). Hopefully, the stars will align for him. Glad we have a lad who cares after all the kunts we’ve had in the last decade.
Off to bed. Positive result. Great coach, great team. Great individuals. Great club. Stop whinging on.
Are they? I thought two bids were accepted and then Sheff Utd but a further improved bid in. I mean, we will never know I'm just going off posts on here.
Very good result, well done Sunderland. Clearly need a rethink of penalties but beyond that couldn't be a great deal more pleased to have kept the race tight away from home.
Burnley weren't remotely dangerous, our CBs handled the game well but for a 'top' team playing at home they were very weak in attack.
Think about it this way, we’ve played 7 games against the rest of the top 6 and we’ve only lost one. Arguably we could have won all those games on another day (maybe besides Leeds). Let’s keep our heads up, there’s nothing there that says to me that we can’t do it (get autos)
That felt like a loss for a good hour, but we are still in the hunt. Let’s hope Norwich and/or Wednesday do us a favour. Le fee has it. For a 20-30 minute spell I thought he was a level above and then ran out of steam…all this whilst out of position. Mayenda once again showing his potential, if he finds some more composure in front of goal I think his ceiling is so high. Has the athleticism and physicality already.
I must confess Mayenda is growing on me. I still see him as a central forward but plenty of time to grow into that position.
I thought we matched them tonight, I thought the last 20 we were the better team, other than the penalties, not having a pop but I don't think he should have taken the second, just because he didn't look that confident with the first. Don't know if it's just me but I thought Hume was poor tonight, especially in possession, lots of times he gave the ball away. Le Fee looks like he's deferent level. We could be very close and this is going to be one tight run in especially considering the top 3 all have each other to play so somebody is dropping points
