It’s dead easy isn’t it. Just go out and sign a proven 15 goals a season striker. Here you go, choose one from this lot: Sammie Szmodics - now in the PL, no chance of dropping down to the foot of the Champ. Adam Armstrong - see Sammie Szmodics Crysencio Summerville- see Szmodics and Armstrong Morgan Whittaker - legitimate target, called **** and slow on here though Jamie Vardy - see Szmodics, Armstrong and Summerville Haji Wright - not swapping mid table Coventry for us Josh Sargent - injured and not swapping mid table Norwich for us Emmanuel Latte-Lath - worth £10m plus and not swapping mid table Middlesbrough for us Che Adams - not swapping Serie A for us Jack Clarke - legitimate target but going to cost £10m plus Not easy is it? Let’s drop down to League One: Alfie May - legitimate target, unlikely to swap Birmingham for us though Colby Bishop - at a relegation rival, sale extremely unlikely Devante Cole - legitimate target, not getting much game time at WBA Jamie Reid - legitimate target but perhaps a bit old for some at 29 Chris Martin - yes, that one Mark Harris - see Colby Bishop Sam Hoskins - see Jamie Reid (he’s 31) Jordan Rhodes - yes, that one Sam Smith - we are told signings from Reading are a no-no We have to take a flyer on someone, getting in proven goals is either immensely expensive or requires money to spent on players with low residual value. Joseph seems to be that kind of player.
I seem to remember Kyle Joseph being one of those “one to watch” players a couple of seasons ago, the kind of articles that newspapers recommend players you should keep an eye on in the coming years. He did well at Wigan at a very young age, but then it didn’t work out for him at Swansea. I think it’s a good buy, he’s pretty tall and a decent finisher, so hopefully we can be more of a threat from corners with him up front.
What's with Brazilian parents' obsession with American presidents? Washington now Lincoln linked with us. There'll be tricky wingers called Trump soon
From what Blackpool fans are saying on X, Joseph is Longman MkII and they’d snap our hands off for £2 million let alone anymore. If that’s the market we’re looking at, I’d 100% prefer us to go for Kone even if it’s a little more expensive.
Ive caught glimpses of him and there is a rawness to him but he’s just got this finishing ability that you can’t quite quantify. His goal against Charlton is top drawer. He’s already the leap from the 9th tier to league one. It’s not unreasonable to think he could make the next jump
