Similar here. We know we're short of nous, informal leaders, characters, height, real experience, etc. Maybe that's at least partly why players like Crooks, Ambrabat and likely 1 or 2 more yet are coming in. It seems to me that the 'brains team', who I still have major reservations about tbh, have at least realised we have been sorely missing certain such characteristics, and I'd guess Selles has been a massive contributor to that realisation too. Hopefully we will have enough to keep us in this division, then such weakness can finally be addressed.
It’s all gone a bit quiet on the Barry front, but I’m not sure if we’ll still be in for him. Looks like Gelhardt, Kamara and Amrabat will be the right wing options. Henrique, Burtsow and this unnamed player for the left. Shame because I think Barry and Gelhardt either side of Pedro would work well
Players get better in people's eyes when they're either not playing or have left. There was a lot to like about Allahyar but he couldn't stay fit and many moaned at his output/end product too.
was gonna say Millar managed more goal contributions in about 10 games for us didn’t he? And under Walter….
Pretty similar, I always thought he was best as a wing back and probably would've made a good full-back if his tackling wasn't erm... erratic
To me the situation with Barry is an example of the absurdity of the transfer window system and the way clubs deal within it. He was scoring goals at Stockport, gets recalled to go somewhere else, then sits on his arse for weeks whilst everyone has a think about where he should go. How much thinking can it really need? Get him playing somewhere surely.
Word is many would like to DM you, I couldn't possibly comment. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It'll be the same as what happens everywhere, they recall him and plan to send him elsewhere but they then the Malen deal gets priority and takes a little more time and then the Philogene deal pops up and has priority too and before you know it Barry just get's left as he's not priority and he's sat there not playing
Signing a mishmash of experienced players with heart, and character, can go along way. We've seen it all before.
Allahyar was **** from the start, his athleticism was mightily impressive but his footballing skills and brain left a lot to be desired.
No problem, it's for those of a certain age. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Allahyar’s contract was set up so he was due a huge rise to around 40k in his final year or two. We needed rid of him.
