They both played about 20 games for Fenerabahce in the same season, so they'll certainly know each other.
Seems like a right Motley Crue to me. This is what happens when an owner treats his club like a session of Football Manager. Not sure that we have a single player in yet that is really suited to a bottom of the table relegation scrap.
Does strike me a as 'crapshoot' window im afraid... lets hope Selles is ok with what hes got and can mould something together,,.,
I still maintain selling Allahyar last January was a mistake. He would've been perfect as a left-winger under Sellés' style of football and Walter probably would've liked him as well. He has 6 goals and 4 assists in 19 games this season in the Belgian league. The fact we sold him for half of what we paid is a travesty.
Nordin Amrabat Hull City signing explained as Ruben Selles details logic behind surprise deal - Hull Live
He was contracted until 2026 and only 22 when we sold him. We sold him at a loss and replaced him with a loan player we had zero chance of signing permanently. Absolutely ridiculous decision-making by all involved. He is miles better than any fit winger currently at the club. I'd argue he's better than Millar too.
I remeber cringing when he was asked to do any tracking back, his tackles always seemed to end up in a free kick
Got a team of pub players plus someone’s mates grandad , Manesh should have been kept because we knew we’d lose our two best new wingers to ACL’s - honest guys crystal balls don’t work .
Can’t agree with that, his crossing and close control was shocking. Yeah he was quick but it’d often end with nothing happening at the end of it. Millar is far better.
We did but he can play up front and on the wing which is why I think he'd be ideal for Sellés as he likes his wingers playing narrow, running in behind and scoring goals whilst his actual striker drops deep. 10 goal involvements in 19 games in Belgium this season isn't anything to be sniffed at all and he's played mostly as a winger but up front on occasion for Westerlo.
Maybe I’m not so cynical but I see the Amrabat signing similar to the signing of Pedersen in 2007. Been there and done it. Experience and a bit of guile. Will see how he gets on.
How will he keep his balance? Apologies to anyone who got there before me, I've been out walking the dog after having a sleep in.
