I mean, being the better team for 80 mins yet the other team win it, scoring all the goals (even ours!) kinda says it all really..

No where near clinical enough for this level & can’t hold onto a lead for the life of us

Are we back to the magical "plucky and played well" bonus points again, which inexplicably make no difference to the table? Doesn't matter if we lost and were brilliant or lost and were ****. We lost. Again.

    0 points from 12 for Juric. :emoticon-0137-clapp

Utd have basically beaten us with two players. Maybe four, at a stretch. The rest were awful. As was their manager - took him 83 minutes to sub off Yoro, and didn't seek to play a LWB who would attack Sugawara's defensive vulnerability.

That's six points they've taken from us this season, which they don't get if we're not the opposition.

    The nightmare continues.

Fair play to the lads, played excellently. Sulemana and Aribo in particular. Just when you're down in the dumps it's so difficult to see games out.

Ran out of steam and sat too deep.

It’s the forward situation that is killing us, how can we play like we did today and not one of our players manage a finish.

It should have been out of sight by the time they equalised.

It’s a combo really. I think Archer playing in between Dibling and Sulemana would be a good front 3. But by doing that you need to drop a centre back or Fernandes who makes a 3 in midfield which Archer won’t do.

Whilst playing Archer would give us more goal threat I think, I don’t think we get as many chances with him playing instead of the player he replaces, and the defence would suffer. So it’s a squad quality problem that we have to play the extra player deeper so we try and stay in the game first and foremost. Especially against a big team away

I must remember not to take too much notice of your posts straight after the game, this post is much fairer reflection! We missed many good chances at 1-0.:emoticon-0150-hands

How dare we be negative with 6 points from 21 games. So much going for the club at the moment with the new manager getting us to play well, not forgetting the integration of those key signings in this busy Jan transfer window. Everything is indeed rosy in the Southampton garden.

We're the worst team in PL history (not hyperbole but genuinely factual) and there's still posters thinking we shouldn't be negative! What would it take for you to be pissed off? Sports Republic to bum your cat? Sports Republic to invade the Isle of Wight? When will you say, "you know what this is totally ****"

Oh. Really beginning to think for a minute there, that everything wasn't always destined to be ****. Turns out it is, of course.

Interesting comments from Juric. For 75 minutes we played like it was a big game but then the last 15 the mentality wasn’t good enough. You have to be more evil and malicious. Our attitude for the end of the game wasn’t good enough, we were naive

Can’t argue with him really, we can’t see out games. As Scholes and Karen both said, taking off Dibling and Aribo changed the game as well, but yeah nothing new in that we are weak mentally, especially with the season we’ve had. Did anyone really think we would see out a 1-0? Or even get a draw after it went 1-1?

I dunno. I feel pretty positive after that. We've found a system and a formation that actually makes us look like a football team. Sulemana is reborn (although I actually would have taken him off when he was thinking of doing so the first time - he was absolutely blowing at 70 minutes). Would be typical if Dibs has picked up a knock that keeps him out now we're getting somewhere.

Play like that the rest of the season and we'll beat a few teams, and the whole Derby question will be null and void.

Hopefully Juric now realises that in football terms, whatever the question is, the answer is never, ever Smallbone.

Tbh I'd been more embarrassed being a united fan right now. That score line flatters them. They were total dog ****. Bailed out by a kid and with some luck, shocking.
