One swallow doesnt make a summer, but we have actually had one good full 45 mins for the first time this season. We simply did not do more than 10-20 mins under Russ and even then it was normally when the game was gone. So frustrating that we kept him for so long.
I think the highest praise I can give the team is that they actually look like a football team. Could easily have had 4 goals with better finishing, instead of hitting the keeper, but it’s probably the first game I have enjoyed watching this season, for a complete half. The defence has done okay, except for the one time they were done for pace. Still a bit too much space being left in the midfield and outside our box when they do get the ball forward and outside wide, but fingers crossed we can get this over the line.
Our two best players today...two players who Martin failed. The signs were there last season when he couldn't get the best out of Alcarez.
