It's not a guarantee though, and he might struggle for gametime initially as I can't see Isidor getting dropped that quick, I'm not too sure Cannon would be happy with that...
Fishpaste and Graham Falk have linked us to him this window and we've been linked in previous as well
Rumoured back in summer of 2023 and Fishpaste and What the Falk are both saying we've taken another look. Belgian press now saying he is interested in coming.
This season? From what I can see, that record is consistent for Cannon across Preston, Stoke and Leicester (where he was barely used). If we signed him today and played him every week, you would be expecting 8 or 9 goals before the end of the season. That's not factoring in that we'd be creating more chances for him than any of those situations previously and that he's only 22 and has a lot of room for growth. Last season Frigan managed a goal every 250 minutes and before that he was in an inferior league to Belgium. I'm not for one second suggesting Frigan is a bad signing. But it's in no way a like for like but half the price. There is considerably more risk that comes with Frigan and Cannon is much more likely to provide an immediate impact.
Are we going to play him regularly though? I can’t see Isidor being dropped but £13m is a hell of a lot of money and we wouldn’t spend that on someone we expect to sit on the bench. That’s whats confusing about the whole thing for me.
I don't think anyone in our team is guaranteed to play, if someone comes in and performs better in training then isidor I'd expect them to play.
Sounds like the winter version of 'Mendy mkII' , the lad at Rennes?/French league 2 we courted in the summer. There'll be a few irons in the fire.
How good is all this mate … … whatever happens it’s going to be a great run in. We already have enough players to beat most teams and a manager who knows how to use them. We should be full of drink … oops, confidence going to Burnley
Interestingly the season when he was top 5 in Europe for chances created, not one of them was a cross. He’ll be sliding them through all day to Isidor. If they hit it off… with the quality they’ve both got they could be pretty much unstoppable at this level.
Gotta say, I wouldn't be dropped Mayenda! But I wouldn't be surprised if we did and took the piss out of them.
Have to sacrifice a striker to get a body in midfield imo that’s where the games won or lost against sides like these
To play like that you need a pacey striker who can hold defenders off and finish ... ... I'll be amazed if Isidor doesn't increase his strike rate.
