Genuinely think Frigan is a much better option than Cannon. Would be less pressure on him to perform and don't think he'd be demanding game time in the same way Cannon would so would be a solid back up option but still looks good enough to challenge him and at only 21 he has so much upside. For nearly a third of the price seems a no brainer to me, and we clearly think hes good enough if we are after him again. Gives him time to settle if he doesn't hit the ground running
Fair point mate. For me, I’d rather Cannon as we can be more sure he can come in and hit the ground running, with plenty of championship experience. Rewind 12 months and I would have likely said Frigan, but given the chance we have this season, I’d take Cannon as things stand. We have a real chance of automatics here.
think thats the worry with Cannon, where ever he ends up, he will need to score in his first game, There will be a lot of pressure on him to hit the ground the running, Frigan is the unknown and think that will suit us more.
I do think the same but... Isidor rn deserves to be our main man, if Mayenda was composed enough in front of goal we would have two ready-to-go strikers. All Frigan needs to do as the chances are being created in this side is to use his supposedly good movement and finishing and we would have two strikers firing.
Also true mate. In fairness I don’t know a great deal about Frigan. However, we need to be able to rotate and have faith that those coming in to the side don’t reduce the quality. If Isidor was injured or needed a rest, I’d have more confidence in Cannon doing the business. Don’t think there’s a ‘right answer’ here. Just opinions.
My problem is that RLB won’t drop Isidor and he may play every game … … Cannon would expect to be starting games, not sitting on the bench.
How many times have you seen Frigan play? I'd be shocked if anyone but Scout or Sour Patch on here could genuinely say more than 1 game. That's not to say he doesn't look promising or wouldn't be a good signing, but there is unquestionably more risk involved. 6 goals in 20 games this season is fine, but it's not prolific in the way you would hope from a player in a second tier league. At least with Cannon we have certainty that he can perform at this level. I'm not even saying Cannon is the better signing. I can't say definitively. But that's what the difference in price is - a player already performing at the level required vs a player that would need to step up and adapt to a new level/country.
I like the look of Frigan. Seems very reliant on service but when he gets the chances he puts them away. He's not the quickest or strongest striker so he knows that his movement is key and it looks like he works hard on it. Think he could be someone who easily gets into double figures within a good team.
He’s got very nice double movements in the box If a strikers got that they’ve got a good instinct you just can’t teach it
I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play tbh, even at games I’ve been to. He doesn’t stand out and I’ve barely noticed him. That's more to do with me than him.
Never watched him play an actual game to be honest, only clips, but I trust the recruitment team we have and if they think that he's good enough and are going back in for him for a second time then he must have something. There is more risk but there is risk with every signing, it's not as if it is certain Cannon will come in and score goals or even play at all. If you are spending 13 million in this league I think you'd expect more quality than he's got, 3 goals in 21 if you take out pens and one purple patch game. We let Clarke go for 15 and he's nowhere near as good
Is this Frigan an actual target for the club or is it just someone some of our fans think would be a good signing ?
