I think this one is another really toughie

Thry are very good at home. They are actually 2nd in the home only table (behind us) with a record of 7-2-2 and have scored 29 but bizarrely have conceded 21 in those 11 games.

I was wondering how on earth the record could look like that

    5-3 v wolves
    4-3 v ipswich
    3-2 v bournemouth
    4-2 v newcastle
    0-2 v forest
    1-3 v arsenal
    2-2 v city

In short they score 2 a game and conceded 2 a game on average.

Take your pick in what score this will be.

Again like forest my view is that the midfield needs to be macallister and gravenberch in a line and not gravenberch on his lonesome as there's zero screen at all.

Their fast forwards will get at our back line and have a field day if we don't tighten up.

But anyway, unlike the forest game this one is going to be a great watch for the neutral.

I was going to say "I hope we drop points" until I saw it was your birthday.... But since it's your birthday I hope we get at least three points from this game.

Now I know its your birthday I want us to win... And Salah to sing "Happy Birthday" into the camera as a goal celebration.

They have put Tierney on our var again eh?

Same guy who couldn't not over turn that offside goal v spurs but laughed as he ignored everything else including a stonewall pen.

Brentford are basically Forest but without the top class defence.

They played well at Anfield but lacked a cutting edge so we were always pretty comfortable after we took the lead, which was through an almost trademark counter from a corner.

First goal will be important though because they are good on the counter

I think they have injuries but don't sit as deep or hump it long either.

There'll be chances but their home record is very very good.

To win we actually be good. Not alright and relying on salah but genuinely good.

If we are to be taken seriously as title contender, this type of game we need grind out a result.

    6-3?

they are kind of like spurs in that respect.

City were 2-0 up and conceded 2 in the last 10 minutes.

We let spurs back into the game we play through sloppy play and not minding the basic positions. it was 3-0 v spurs, then 3-1 then 4-1 then 5-1 then 5-2 then 5-3 and then 6-3. brentford are not that bad at the back.

This could literally be any socreline if we are playing well but right now we are not.

We need 12/12 this block of 4. to drop point at the first hurdle should send a very strong signal that we are in real trouble.

Champions win these 4 games. they just do. we are more than good enough to take 12 points off 2 midtable and 2 releagttion teams. will we though?

We have won twice in seven games now, which is not encouraging. From Brentford our bad runs can be over I believe?.

    Beat man city
put everything into massive game v real (which a draw would have been fine in) and lost konate and bradley
away to form team in league newcastle - 3-3 draw annoying as we lead in the game. all kelleher needed to do was a simple catch really.
home to fulham draw 2-2- silly red card but we strarted poorly and then they went into thier shell allowing 10 men to equalise twice.
away to spurs 6-3 - win - a great strart then total switch off.
home to leicester 3-1- win but let them score first and then struggled to break them down. individual goal from gakpo and we go form there
away to west ham 5-0 win. - piss easy game once we scored.
home to man utd 2-2 draw. - played bad. that simple. still lead inthe game andrefused to deal with the obvious situation and were punsihed and lucky not to lose
Away to forest - 1-1 draw. - played lacking ideas for 65mins then blew the game open and it could have been either side winning but had 4 good saves made to stop us.

I actually make that. 3-4-0 record.

now that is NOT premier league winning form but theres 2 things that come into play

    1) arsenal's record is 4-3-0 over that period which is a 2 point swing.

    2) There's some tough breaks and hard games in those. It could have been better it coudl have been worse.

5-2-0 would have meant we kept two leads (which champions wouod do) and that would now put us 8 points clear with a game in hand and the title abso-****ing-lutely in the bag.
3-2-2 would have us 2 points clear with a game in hand which is still not awful.

Its very clear we have not had it our own way and at times have been quite poor for stretches of games.

Its also clear we have not been punished much for that run of games.

Now is the time to put this behind us as i'v esaid elsewhere. 4 wins from 4 now.

look at arsenal's next 4. Villa (h), wolves (a), city (h) leicester (a) can we extend our lead back out?

(btw the weeked arsenal play leicester we will be playing wolves and this will then be us playing 5 games to thier 4 and be back on even terms)

At the VERY WORST we need to be 7 points clear at the end of this.

We could be 9 or more clear.

If the gap has narrowd again to say 2 or evne worse is then arsenal a point inthe lead say then we've royally blown it.

One win in our last 4 games... could say inertia is against us now. Harder to get winning mentality right when we've not been playing our best recently. Need to get back into the mentality of not-winning being inconceivable.
