Jared Dublin is Tans replacement as sporting director. That's why he did the interview with Acun when Sells was announced. Doesn't stop people slagging off 'same old brain team' though, despite it having it's most influential roles replaced. And whoever thinks it's only us that takes ages getting transfers done needs to have a look at how long it's taking Ipswich to get Jaden over the line. Fact is it's not just us.
Crooks had to fly back to the states, but will have to build fitness anyway having been off since November. Don't we have another 48 hours to register Geldhart?
I like Joffy, did okay at Sunderland. Was on loan to play alongside Ross Stewart only for Stewart to become (seemingly permanently) injured a week later and had to become the sole striker. That didn't really work out, maybe only 1 or 2 goals. Definitely more of a 10 than out and out striker.
It'd be great if all our prospective signings agreed to join on day 1, no drawn out negotiations, no brinkmanship, no competition from other clubs, but it's never like that. Maybe the odd free agent happens more quickly but club to club transfers/loans are bound to take time. It isn't just in our hands.
You'd think any rational person would realise that the club can only control their side in a 3 (or potentially more) sided deal, but evidently not.
Thanks for this. I genuinely didn't know who was handling transfers. I knew Dublin was Sporting Director and therefore identifying targets, but you're suggesting he's also responsible for getting them over the line, which I didn't know.
Gelhardt done he’s finally made it off the treadmill hut sustained a ACL injury after doing his medical for a week.
“I’m really excited to work with the manager. He sees me more playing off the nine, maybe off the right or just behind." interesting...
Whose this Dennis larker, don't know him? The way our recruitment's been going over the last few windows, i'm surprised it's not frigging Les Dennis.
“It’s a happy moment for me. I’ve spoken to the manager about the plans and direction the club is going in and I can’t wait to get started and get playing. “I’m really excited to work with the manager. He sees me more playing off the nine, maybe off the right or just behind. “My best positions are striker or just behind the striker, trying to help assist and score goals for the team and trying to win games. “Every footballer wants to train hard all week and get rewarded with playing on the weekend. “That hasn’t happened for me in the last few years so I’m really excited to get playing again and get that matchday feeling back.”
