I was actually going to say that I'm glad we're not dallying with the ball in/around our own area when under pressure. I know it's back to playing percentage football when we clear our lines quickly but it definitely mitigates opportunities for silly errors... Gutting not to get all 3 points tonight as they all put a shift in, but it's still small steps of progress. Rino looks like a completely different player nowadays and Ashford looks so confident right now. Ng looked a lot better than he has in a while and Chambers still generally looking assured in his new role. The only slightly wobbly one for me tonight was Daland, who tried to play a bit too much at times and seemed to be muscled off the ball a bit too often.
That was a kick in the teeth. Like late concessions at Coventry & Stoke it was needless and self inflicted. Riza’s negative tactics after we took the lead didn’t help nor did O’Dowda by fannying about. Row Z is an option But by then we should have been comfortably ahead and that was our game in hand as well
Good to see Ashford score but when he was clear down the right later he had 3 players in the box but chose to shoot from a tight angle. Inexperience shows and the result of a game rests on fine margins as was later shown. Could and should have won that. 6 points dropped from winning positions as Ninian pointed out.
I had a good view of that - I reckoned he did everything right and lined up the shot as a cross would have been cut out. His shot was very well blocked as it was on target. Tanner again didn’t make the most of a breakaway. The coaches should help him out there in training.
I think we took him onboard after he was released by Southampton last summer and immediately loaned him out to an Irish club We must have recalled him - hence he suddenly appears in a City shirt.
No probs remote - just out of interest, the Irish club was Sligo Rovers where our Oliver Denham went on loan last season. Denham was eventually released by us last summer. He stayed on and signed permanently for Sligo Rovers where he is right now.
