Aye I’m sure they spent a fair chunk of coin last season mind they had a huge recruitment and I’m sure that was the end of their restriction. I don’t really see anyone in their squad that they’ll be banking on getting some real money for. Must be a dire club to support at the minute because realistically unless they’re going to pump in big money, which they won’t after the last time, they’re going to have to rely on loans. Credit to KLD on that note because not only are we in a position where we have several big money assets that we could offload at the drop of a hat if need be, I’m also confident we’d recruit well to replace them.
Hear I like this take, but for me, Brereton Diaz would be a proper corker of a signing. Cannon would as well, but he's a bit more basic centre floorboard.
I agree. Brereton Diaz used to win games single handedly for Blackburn, proper player. Would improve our starting Xl and can play across a few positions.
Yeah, I thought £7m was a push...definitely not interested at that price. Only thing that makes me doubt this tweet is that I thought Stoke were skint?
Given Sunderland's history over transfers, it will probably someone we haven't heard of. I imagine our recruitment team must look at forums like this and p iss themselves laughing at us giving opinion on targets they are not looking at.. I'm as guilty as anyone for that
If we want Cannon then it might be a no go now. All EPL teams have been cleared as being financially compliant
Might be mistaken but think his slump also coincided with his no. 2 leaving. Stoke may have hired a turkey....oh dear. Never mind
I don't mind Cannon but the young + English tax is a bit too high if they want more than about £7.5m. Maybe if they take like a £5m base with performance addons to £8.5m it would be reasonable enough. Otherwise we should go for an u21 french striker who hasn't even heard of himself.
I'd genuinely rather spend £3m on Callum Lang than £9m on Cannon (I've invented £3m, obviously no idea what Lang would cost)
In and around 10m for a lad that has five non penalty goals, four of which came in one game and doesn’t appear to really stand out is a distinct no for me. He seems the epitome of okay all round without being particularly good in any distinct area.
