Boro will play him correctly. They will play to risk the fact he’s defensively a bit pants and just let him bomb on in dangerous areas. It’s what they did before and our scout team didn’t really analyse his defensive capabilities
Yep agreed. Team shapes and tactics make absolutely no difference to what happens on the pitch, that’s why they don’t get used in the professional game and nobody talks about them.
That’s all well and good. But as a full back he’s no way worth 3/5 million. Again that’s on the brain team. His attacking play has been crap an all for us.
Yeah I agree. I remember it being heralded by Acun he had the most assists of any defender. Which maybe highlights what they were looking at rather than someone who could maybe defend
Take a look at the comments on this tweet, it seems most Boro fans don't rate him any more highly than we do.
We’ve seen flashes of what Giles can do, when he first arrived his attacking play was often brilliant with nobody attacking his balls into the box, likewise in pre season. I remember commenting several times that he and Oscar would form a formidable partnership that would surely result in lots of goals, unfortunately we never got to see it. He’s only the same player by name, his performances this season have been disgustingly bad for a professional sportsmen and every opportunity he’s been given he’s managed to look worse than before every time.
Does he have any assists for us? Not seen much of his amazing crossing He’s hardly a beckham picking out his man and plonking it on his head for a goal is he
Over his time here he’s got 1 assist that being said I can think of a handful of chances he’s put in a decent ball for it not to be finished
Giles,if he is to leave, will go down as another player who we 'allegedly' paid £4.5 million for and leaves us for an undisclosed fee?.End result,we'll never know how much of a **** up this really is/was. Never worked out for us or Giles but I'm pretty sure someone will find the key to unlock the player within.
It’s a shame, he really did not suit Rosenior at all, no player in the world suited Walter, and now I think Selles is playing a faster style that would suit him I think his lack of motivation here is already at rock bottom and it’s too little too late, he could be pretty good bombing on forwards quickly with other players in the team actually attacking the box.
I agree, it’s all well and good getting forward, but his final delivery, crosses, has been really poor.
Ach - you've left yourself open for a '(Historic Away Following × Metropolitan Area of the Town and Conurbation) ÷ Anecdotal Evidence from the 70s' style attack there.
