I wasn’t sure if he would go back but after not being in the squad at all yesterday it seemed obvious as I thought it would have been a chance for him to start
Gordons recall now confirmed on the clubs website, does that mean we are close to announcing Jurasek?
It looks like that and it was us who terminated the contract: "The Canaries have exercised an option to terminate the deal during the January transfer window, meaning he returns to Anfield less than five months after his deadline day move to Norfolk in the summer. The 20-year-old’s departure has been accelerated by City’s pursuit of Slavia Prague winger Matej Jurasek, which is at an advanced stage after a package worth close to £6million was agreed with the Czech side. Gordon has struggled for game time since signing for Norwich, however, starting just once as an injury-hit team lost 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in November. He’s scored once in 10 Championship appearances, making the bench in Saturday’s 4-0 FA Cup loss to Brighton but staying on it." https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...city-transfers-kaide-gordon-liverpool-return/
Here's the details on Slimane: "Norwich City have completed the signing of Anis Ben Slimane on a permanent deal, following his loan from Sheffield United. The 23-year-old arrived at Carrow Road in the summer from fellow Championship side Sheffield United, with the Canaries now triggering their option to sign the Tunisian on a permanent basis. Slimane has featured in 21 Championship games for Norwich and has found the back of the net on two occasions. The Tunisian international has signed a long-term deal at the club, keeping him at Carrow Road until 2028." https://www.canaries.co.uk/content/canaries-complete-permanent-signing-of-slimane
Ricky-Jade Jones a new name on the rumour list - a striker with 11 goals in 31 appearances this season: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/n...o-land-peterborough-uniteds-ricky-jade-jones/
Striker/left winger known for being very quick, and pressing hard. Good counter-attacker and dribbler, but not a great passer. For a side aiming for a patient buildup style, I can see the value in a hard pressing, rapid player. Having that kind of pace in the side, coupled with players capable of playing the pass to find him behind the backline, is a potent combination. And if the opposition drop deeper to prevent that, it creates more space between the lines. Young, but I'd be surprised if he's cheap enough.
He has phenomenal experience for someone only 23. A title winner in Denmark, three full seasons and 100+ appearances at the club, over 30 international caps, 15 premier league appearances. Hand on heart I had low expectations, but he’s massively exceeded them. And half the price Sheffield U paid for him 18 months ago.
He will be out of contract this summer, so this may be Peterborough's only chance to get a fee for him. TransferMarkt list him at £800k so the fee might be reasonable. Of his 11 goals, only 5 are in the league with the other 6 in cup games. The Pinkun may pour cold water on this tomorrow but he's the kind of player we need, especially if Dobbin doesn't work out.
Rumours around the Cardiff bid are that a deal around £2m could get it done. If we could get him and Poku that would be fantastic. Could all just be media games though to get Cardiff to rush an increased bid
Not really a Placheta or Hernandez, as he's a striker who can also play as a left winger. Crnac and Schwartau are not slow, but they are not that quick either. Hoffball is all about movement up front and a pacey striker option could be an important addition.
Might help our chance of signing Jonesif we offer to loan him back to Posh for the rest of the season: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/n...-may-help-canaries-win-ricky-jade-jones-race/
Sounds like Buendia could be on his way to Leeds to join up with Farke, after his bit part role occasionally from the bench for Aston Villa. That nasty ligament injury has obviously put paid to his Villa career. Perhaps we could all cobble together £20m for the club to put in a bid, just like the good old days when we helped buy Grant Holt?
Connor Southwell of the PinkUn would appear to poor cold water on a striker coming in this window, so that possibly rules out interest in Ricky-Jade Jones. Also not expecting many permanent signings either
