Listening to TS this morning all Arsenal fans bemoaning the fact that for 5 years they have not had a striker and the club has been neglect in that department. The ones they've had we would love of course. They were saying 'we pass pass pass, but cant finish'.
“Pathetic” “rounding” bit strong isn’t it PLT you ever woke up and seen 10 more pages on a thread and thought “**** me we’ve signed someone over night” only to find out it’s Syd rounding on someone because they’ve said something different to him. He’s the worse for it, he’s even drove orange to drink on the night shift !!
Come on mate you know that’s not how it always works. Coyle missed basically an open goal, Kamara opted to try get their goalkeeper sent off instead of shooting, he also missed a fairly simple chance in the first half too. Add their keepers top saves from Jones and McLoughlins long shots. Pathetic defending from Giles made it more difficult than it needed to be.
So the same as we've been pretty much all season, just not good enough. Have our standards and expectations really dropped that much that we consider Sunday a good performance? It wasn't and shouldn't be classed as one..... Some maybe happy with it and that's up to them, but my standards are higher and expect more from a championship team when facing a L2 team.
The performance yesterday is the minimum we should expect from our squad against a l2 team. That doesn’t mean it’s good, the bar needs lifting if we’ve sunk to the point that we consider it good
My opinion of these players is that low the fact they embarrassed us supporters once again does not surprise me.
Well we’ve gone from optimism in a week after TWS result to Div 1 here we come! , and the signings Crooks apart are slow , the strikers unappealing - thank god the forum has reverted to positives instead of bickering over bugger all ! LOL
It’s a way to pass blame onto the ownership and not the manager. The way both managers have set us up this season has led to us putting in performances that should’ve seen us win more points. The hierarchy have failed them both
I agree, but the players are also heavily to blame. They have to take responsibility for just how poor they have been for over half a season. You can't keep blaming the hierarchy and/or 2 managers for their levels on the pitch. Acun or the managers don't miss or make them miss multiple sitters, misplace passes, gift the opposition goals etc..... personal responsibility is missing, but then again it seems to be a lot in life these days
There will be a few looking at their contracts knowing they're not going to get the year triggered or renewed and planning for a salary a half or a third of what they are on now in a division. or even two below...
The hierarchy do however have us £65m in debt and in the relegation. The current core of the side, Jones, McLoughlin and Slater should’ve been transitioned out the side yet here they are still. The players are missing sitters but they should’ve never been signed for a championship club in the first place
Slater has a good engine in him, but too often he gives a short pass the sprints off to a position where he can’t possibly receive the ball. He should watch George Honeymans performance tonight, always moving into space and always available
