I get the argument for having different options but just a few concerns with the fit for me

If we acquire a BBD or something similar, and a rb of some variety for rotation with Hume, I think we're serious players for the rest of the season.
I had mentally resigned to a play off spot (and was happy with it!) but it would appear KLD/KS have deduced this as a time of action; and I fully trust them to know what they're doing especially with the financials.

I know you’re not asking me. But I’ll answer that for me, what’s exciting isn’t that one of these might join. It’s that we seem to be clearly fishing in a different pond now. The ambition is being shown.

we need to balance short term gain versus long term development. But I think there’s space for a player that can play across the front line, either as a left sided starter in the short term but also as an impact sub throughout.

Tough to answer as depends what other options there are

If we were only to sign 1 more player then I would go BBD - even though I don't like the fit as a winger he can play 2 positions better than Barry can and the other 2 are out an out strikers

I've always been a fan of Cannon, so I'd be going for Cannon on permanent deal then someone like Jean Matteo Bahoya on loan (can cover both wings and fits our system really well)

    Barry
    BBD
    Cannon
    Vinicius

if it’s a loan to buy. We might be able to strike a different style deal for Vinicius

This is probably absolute football manager type fantasy but is Junior Kroupi someone we could get? He came through Lorient academy and broke through into the first team under RLB so will be known/know a number of people at our club. He's scored 7 in 15 so far this season in Ligue 2 as Lorient sit top of the league. Rumour that he'll cost about €8m and big clubs are circling with Leipzig looking at him closely. He's a versatile forward who scores goals, is only 18 and highly rated. Probably too ambitious but it would be rude not to ask.

    Think i'd rank them as;
    Vinicius
    BBD
    Cannon
    Barry

RLB has mentioned the type of striker he wants to bring in, Vinicius fits that profile better than Cannon. He then mentioned wanting a versatile forward, BBD offers a bit more versatility and talent than Barry. Would be perfectly happy with any of the 4 coming in though.

Think we do need to be a touch careful with the loans though. If we don't go up then that's 5 players we lose straight away (Mepham, Le Fee, Isidor, Salis and whoever joins as the 5th loan) and that's before talking about how we will probably sell a starting 11 player as well. Don't want to have a summer like Hull did. Trust the club to make the best decision for the short, medium and long term though.

Class striker but not sure he would add that instant impact considering he’s been injured most of the season

I'm surprised Hull last season aren't getting mentioned more as a cautionary tale. High profile, much heralded loan signings coming into a good (already large) squad performing well.....

The big difference I guess is that Le Bris is fully on board with our recruitment whereas it's implied that Hull's was all done without Rosenior even being consulted.

I would like to put my oar in regarding the striker situation. I've been having a look over our last 12 or so games since Millwall at the end of November. I hadn't quite realised that we were against the top goalkeepers in the division in most of them

We played teams with keepers in the top 5 for xg prevented 6 times (mainly from Stoke and Sheff utd). If we widen it to top 8 then it's 9 out of 12.

It might be that our striking options are fine and that sometimes we are just against decent players opposite. It is just one stat though and I'll always be happy with more forwards personally. More just something I was thinking about than any great revelation

I think Isidor would stay and I think we'd have a chance of getting Meps.

Is it just me or does it feel like the deals we are being linked with are falling into place for us this time

For example. Le Fee’s deal fell through with real Betis so we had a good chance to swoop in

BBD we are the only club willing to accept a buy clause

Now with Cannon we are the only club not waiting around on other things to fall into place (Wilder wants a definitive answer on McBurnie before going for Cannon), Luton and Sheff Wed unlikely to offer a buy clause and there’s only days left to get a deal done

Too lazy, shocking attitude on him

Not seen many players as lazy as him when it comes to pressing for the team
