The trouble is that you know there is always that minuscule urge to know either what is happening or at least, the result. It’s part of the condition! (Being a Saints fan)
Big match for Juric, he has been here for a few weeks now and although I’m expecting a few changes personnel wise, we should be seeing his tactics a lot clearer now, especially in a game where we will see the majority of the ball.
Me too. Couldn’t be bothered to get a ticket, especially at those ridiculous prices. Will probably watch later today but not really that interested. Thanks SR, you’ve really done so well.
Yup. I have zero interest, and plan to remain oblivious, but I'll be reluctantly checking the scores from 3.00pm until all hope is gone. So around 3.20 then. Sincere respect and condolences, to anyone braving the cold for this one.
Happy clapping for me today. I don't believe the players have downed tools. There are a few who never picked the tools up in the first place, but so long as Juric doesn't pick them then I can't blame the rest for the mess we're in. Just feel like I want to go and support them today. We've hit rock bottom and this is the time I feel it's important to be a fan. Fully understand those who disagree though, or who are pissed off at the prices/performances etc. Up the Saints.
Enjoy mate. Wins are as rare as rocking horse **** this season and this represents a good chance at one so fingers crossed. My reason for not going is purely the cost rather than anything else. I'm a bit gutted I'm not now tbh.
Well we’re going and it’ll be 5c with a light southern breeze, so balmy compared to recently Tickets were only £20 when we got them, so not so bad, but should have been 15 and 5 for kids, SR got that wrong and won’t be so many there to help keep us warm Hope for signs of improvement COYS
It’s even more of a barmy decision when you consider the amount they’ve invested in the fans zones etc They’re going to lose out on loads of income from a lower attendance
I've always thought early cup games should be focused entirely on getting a full house, particularly getting the youth in. If you can get kids going to games when they are 8-16 they are way more likely to become/stay Saints fans rather than pick a Liverpool or Man City. I hate seeing kids in Liverpool/City tops in and around Southampton. We would be better off sacrificing a few quid in these games to get the next generation coming to games.
Yeah the pricing was all about greed. Surely 25k at 15 a pop is more than 11k at £30? Especially food/drinks, impulse purchases from the club shop? I just don't get it. That's without long term planning as Ronnie says. SR ****ing it up again
I'm not going because of both the pricing and the **** performances. If it was £10 I'd have possibly still gone despite the **** performances. If Downes is still out and is likely to miss more PL games too, then hopefully we use this game to try and work out a 3 man midfield that can do a job until he's back. I'd probably go with Ugochukwu, Lallana and Fernandes. I'd probably look at something like this. Ramsdale KWP THB Bednarek Taylor Lallana Ugochukwu Fernandes Dibling Archer Armstrong
