sorry mate it was a joke as he was pointing out the problems with bringing in short term solutions. Very valid point and I knew you’d have the same sensible argument to stop my excitement
RLB did mention that we want a versatile attacker, BBD fits that bill. I like him, he's a quality player at this level and is perfectly fine at a bottom half PL side so no issues with the obligation for me, depending on price. I think he ends up at Sheff Utd. If he came here I think that he would be instead of another striker which I wouldn't be disappointed by.
I’m actually quite surprised at the amount of no’s I’ve seen on twitter. A lot of “not PL quality too”. I’m sure it averages a goal contribution every two games. How would that be not good enough?
My concern is more on the fit, but it's probably only a slight concern as he def has x factor and the best way to think about it is I'd be disappointed if sheff utd signed him We aren't in the pl so we def shouldn't be worrying if players are PL quality until we get there
yeh this was my point earlier. We’ve come such a long way that “not prem quality” is being used as a reason to not sign somebody.
We as supporters have to be careful. We don’t want to go down the road we went down the last time we were in the Premier League. We had decent players for a while yet reading the message boards you’d think they were Sunday League pub team cloggers and that they could never be good enough for Sunderland. A favourite phrase, levelled at Phil Bardsley was that he only put in good performances when he was after a new contract. The reality was that he was a decent player for us.
I’d prefer Brereton to Vinicius, his versatility would be very useful from the left in the short term whilst Mundle and Watson get back to fitness. Then provides excellent competition for Isidor. Shame it seems he’s holding out for the blades, could possibly be agent talk to put pressure on them as well?
Fwiw, Sheff Utd fans, who’ve already had him in the prem; seem to universally think they should stop ****ing about and offer the compulsory purchase upon promotion.
Be class if this was mystery curly haired tattooed lad someone said we had in the building If not Diaz, hopefully some movement next week now the cup games have been played
I'd be very happy with BBD he would certainly add to the aerial threat at corners and set pieces. - He's got a canny shot too, remember 4:30 Vamos Big Ben
He'd be a great addition, it's not immediately clear who if anyone he would replace in the starting lineup but he's versatile and would get plenty of minutes. I'd love it if we got him onboard always rated him.
Thanks for that. I have read reports that he needs to improve his goalscoring stats but if he had, given the other qualities he seems to have, then he would already be at a top Premier club. I must admit I knew nothing of him when his name first cropped up bit watching the obligatory videos I was immediately impressed, mainly by his footwork, positivity and how quickly he turned/moved away from opposition players. Hopefully our current players can get onto his wavelength to benefit from him (particularly Isidor, who could flourish).
we won't sign Brereton we are not ambitious enough in fact these owners won't sign any frigging striker, we have nowt up front are the owners listening ? or another wasted season awaits. Lathe boro, Whitacker, Plymouth they are what we need get you finger out now.
Saying we’re not ambitious after we announced the signing of a player that has gone for 20+ million the last two summers just over 24 hours ago as well as saying “we have nowt up front “ while having one of if not the best finishers playing week in week out is definitely a decision not one based in logic but a decision nonetheless
