Just listening to Total Sport from last night on iPlayer (yes, I am that bored at graft) and they were discussing who would be in our strongest line up when everyone is fit. There were a few interesting selections but the general consensus was that Spiderman or Nolan (!) should be dropped to accommodate HBA and/or Ireland. I appreciate we've done this a few times before, some more than others ( :emoticon-0147-emo: ) but has our recent form and the performances of our fringe players, particularly the strikers, altered your view? My preferred line up would be this, not including potential summer signings:

    Harper
    Simpson - S Taylor - Coloccini - Enrique
    Barton - Tiote - Nolan - Jonas
    HBA
    Ameobi

Bench: Krul, R Taylor, Williamson, Ireland, Guthrie, Best, Lovenkrands

It is a close call between Ameobi and Best but I think Shola is a much better player all round. Though I must give Best credit for the goals his scored, his all round game isn't the best (no pun intended) and this emphasises our need for a new striker in the summer.

Agree with your line up steviemac but I personally reckon we'll see alot more from Best. He's still showing a distinct lack of match fitness/awareness and while I'm not doubting Shola's experience, I think Best can offer alot more, especially long term.

Depending on how Ireland plays, then your team with Williamson for Taylor and Best for Shola (Shola would just look embarrassing playing with HBA, he hasn't got the pace to play in front of him).

Lack of pace in your team is worrying! Ameobi/Nolan = Slow(Crucial areas were you need pace, technically ability and skill).

My preferred line up(EVERYBODY FULLY FIT NOT INCLUDING POTENTIAL SIGNINGS) :
    Harper
    Simpson Colo Willo Enrique
    Barton Ireland(ON FORM) Tiote Guti
    Ben Arfa
    Best
Subs: Krul, Saylor, Raylor, Gosling, Nolan, Ranger, Lover.

Why are some of you putting HBA in the middle. Every time i've seen him (including in France) he's played on the wing...?

I'd like to see him on the right side of a front 3 with Spiderman on the left or Gervinho if we can get hold of him :D

To be honest, none of our strikers have GREAT quality. There OK as back-up(Ranger and Best) but we definitely need a proven quality PL striker(Mr. Pav would be my main man) and a good versatile player(Barnetta/Kranjcar).

Not sure yet, never seen it. I'll let you know though after I watch it again.

p.s. It's rather fitting that you posted that twice.
