All the bollocks about trying in the cup: Madsen played the whole 90+. If it was a league game he would have been hooked at HT. Blackburn won, so we have our tradition weekend off in a few weeks time. Two positives from today: Madsen and Ashby will be nowhere near the starting eleven next week.
Edwards looked very lightweight but I don’t like to write somebody off after 1 week with the club. But I really hope that Morrison gets fit soon so we can have Dunne at right back and we can keep Ashby away from the pitch. He’s a strange one as he swans around barking out orders. He so un self aware.I’ve been hoping that Madsen will come goo but starting give up on him now. It’s a shame we again didn’t give it a go and start with our strongest 11. Leicester did and they’re in a relegation scrap
Marti was dammed if he did, dammed if he didn't really. Most people were reasonably content with the starting 11. Didn't see a lack of effort, aside from Madsen but then I just didn't see him at all.
Hope i never see Madsen in our starting 11 again. (Or the bench, for that matter). Having said that, i didn't see him in the starting 11 today either.
Reality is we could have put our best eleven out and still got spanked, back to League business now...
I thought we gave it a good go, especially 1st half and their 2nd & 3rd goals were against the run of play..... The longer it stayed 3-2:the more tense they'd become, but the penalty killed all that..... thereafter they played with confidence and we chased shadows..... Scoreline flattered them, but not the result, they had better quality players and it showed 2nd half.....Ashby had a mare but he won't face that sort of player in championship...... I'm afraid MADSEN is the new Jenus, the friendly ghost, for his size he was anonymous..... Varane looks to be improving game on game..... Felt sorry for Walsh as he had no chance with any of the goals, other than picking ball out of the net he had nothing to do.... On to Plymouth to continue our play off push.....
