I think he would’ve had Rigg not been returning from injury he’s not a deep midfielder so it’s important to keep the shape of the team. He’ll get minutes today as will samed, neil and Rigg subbed later
Thanks RTB. Your thread does this proud old competition justice. There was a time, pre the money, when the FA Cup was extra special. Maybe the best tournament in the country. Now it is seen as something that gets in the way. Really rather sad. Happy enough with the team. Chance for Jones and Connolly. Hope to see Adil keep up his good form too.
Pleased to see some rotation but not too much. More chance of rewarding the crowd with a good performance.
Agree about the cup, this weeks felt more like an international break than fa cup week, proper shame used to get a real buzz for it as a kid
I'd of liked Aleksic to start instead of Adil, but other than that I'm pretty happy Hoping Aleksic, Trey and Samed all get good run outs in the 2nd half Hope Johnson gets some minutes as well
Yeah. They need a good 30 mins at least. Would have thought they would have started ahead of Jones who is going to Gateshead.
I'm not surprised Samed is on the bench, been out injured for a while so makes sense I'd of probably gone for Aleksic tho, I like what I've seen so far
Exactly this. Thrilled to see Jones start, Hjelde deserves it as well. I'd have liked to see Aleksic start. Samed wasn't a realistic start imo anyway. 25 mins for his first game in 5 months will be fine. Hopefully Trey and Johnson get at least the same. Stoke are strong today, will be a tough match for us.
As I said earlier, I think this will be an open entertaining game ... ... and those who want multiple early subs may get their wishes.
