He's fine in the pub, basks in the glory a bit but with some entitlement I'd say, I've watched England games with him in Wheatsheaf when he's been with Kerry, found him good company telling us anecdotes about Southgate who he played with at Boro. Always be a legend to me.

Very sad if this is genuine. Surely there will have to be a genuine medical diagnosis before the FA stump up any cash?

It's stage 2 which means it is not severe at the moment, but it's a progressive illness.

I don't think that long away from heading being banned in football.

If it was any other Industry we'd be called it to be banned straight away.

    The numbers sound insanely high
    But its like
0.5% extra or something versus the baseline

And this is players from 30 odd years ago who had different balls and training methods

stage 2 dementia is also indistinguishable from normal ageing, and their symptoms do not qualify for a diagnosis of dementia

I've seen people talking about heading and I want to throw my own thoughts into it. Without heading Ryan Mason doesn't clash heads with Cahilll destroying his career. And all of the other clashing of heads injuries. The FA really should have been having way more conversations and looking into the statistics of how common clashing of heads is. This is a factor to me that pushes phasing out heading quite highly.

Not wanting to downplay the obvious effects of heading the ball by footballers but why dont we hear more about this from ex rugby players? Yes we have the sad news around MND about the likes of Rob Burrow and Doddie Weir. Its not just clash of heads etc, but in many tackles the whole body is shook to buggery. Remember we are talking about real hardmen here, standing on the terraces you can feel the intensity of the tackles, nothing like our prima donnas who hit the deck like they have been shot with a '50.cal sniper rifle, at every possible occasion.

There’s loads of stories about rugby players with early onset dementia, over 200 of them are currently taking legal action against the governing bodies.

I’d say he definitely isn’t fine in the pub. A former colleague of mine told me he sexually harassed her in a pub.

He’s had a lot of problems with drink over the years and he doesn’t seem to be getting better with it.

There are a load of them trying to get paid out currently in Rugby League, the usual suspects led by Goulding. It won't go far.
