I think it’s too early to say Rigg at 17 is better than Jobe was at 18 but he’s improved so much in such a short space of time It’s great to have them both.
Rigg for me too. He is just a rare rare talent. So much natural ability, brilliant attitude and seems to want to learn and learn. I could watch him play all day
Yeah I appreciate that, but he's not exactly proven himself to be constantly prolific at this level (yet) - Villa are asking for 80 million from the evidence of a season and a half of substitute appearences and 12 prem goals Caicedo and Rice were only a bit more and were 2 of the best midfielders in the division at the time and had done it over a period of time All I'm saying is if on that evidence Villa are asking for 80m, if Jobe/Rigg played a full season and did well, they probably wouldn't be far off that price either
Same for Jobe. How great is it to have these two talents and debating which one will be better and it actually being a close run thing.
I forgot what game it was earlier in the season but there was a moment where I just thought ‘WOW’ High ball came towards him, quick scan over his shoulder and the first touch he took just absolutely killed the opponent, completely took him out of the game. Class
I really hope we aren’t waiting to announce that tommorow at the game mind infront of what I expect to be around 15k fans
Some players have a natural talent and a natural instinct. When they have both you get something special. Sees the most extraordinary opportunity and can execute. He has that. I hope we get another season of him after this. But I do think before he is 20 he will be excelling at a really big club. I dont think I am exagerating when I say he looks a Man City profile of player and that level of club should be his next step, not a Palace say, who I have the utmost respect for in terms of young players. Sometimes a player is good enough irrespective of age and I think Rigg is that.
Maybe he won’t get formally announced in the normal way and he’s just put in tomorrow’s squad. Would cause a few chuckles and bonus for those going.
We do take forever to announce signings. Remember on deadline day we announced all 3 at about 2:30am despite two of them being reported as done by lunchtime
What is the best announcement ever for a new signing? Anywhere in footy. Clubs seem to be getting a bit funky with it all. I prefer the black and white photos in the northern echo of a handshake in the boardroom followed by them getting their keys to their ford escort
