Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce that Harrison Jones has signed a new contract with the Club. The Under-21s captain has extended his stay on Wearside until 2026 with the option of a further year. Jones first joined the Academy of Light at age 6, featuring at every youth level, and has since made his first-team debut in this season’s Carabao Cup fixture against Preston North End. The attacking midfielder has featured nine times on the bench for Régis Le Bris’ side, whilst also accumulating one goal and four assists in eight Premier League 2 appearances.... Academy Manager, Robin Nicholls added: “We are delighted to agree terms on a new contract with Harrison. He is an excellent young man with a bright future in football ahead of him. “We retain a firm belief in his ability to progress and make an impact on our first team here at the club. Since returning from a significant injury that kept him sidelined for an extended period, his application and progression have impressed all the staff, and he has become a role model for all of the players in our Academy.”

A real shame about the game being off but it’s no surprise Huddersfield on Monday night is probably in doubt too
Tonight’s game being called off will keep Stoke guessing as to how many changes we will make for the FA Cup tomorrow.
Huddersfield at home tonight in the PL Cup We’re huge favourites, Huddersfield have struggled big time in the competition
I’m a bit surprised tbh. I live 1.5miles away from the ground and the grass in the area seems okay, certainly not frozen. A shame but the ground staff know best
Shame I was thinking of watching on YouTube. The ECW ground is on the edge of the Hole that gave the place its name on a cold day the mist / fog stays over Hetton beck and down into the park.
