Ive accepted Newcastle will win something soon. Since a Saudi dictator took over, any success is water off a ducks back as far as rivalry is concerned. Mike Ashley winning something would have been unbearable. This lot? The fact they are owned by those who bribe, bully, threaten and kill to get what they want? Success is inevitable.

It would still be absolutely horrendous. Unbearable enough as it is. I think they’re through now but it would be great to see them stuffed in the final, again.

I reckon the League cup has Newcastle written all over it, but the joy will be doubled if they get beat. <laugh>

It might be because it will be a little easier for me. I'm not surrounded by them as much at the moment. And those town supporters I know? We dont engage in football chat anymore. Since their takeover, they arent as vocal. The rivalry link has been weakened. Its like they are embarrassed and dont want me to play my trump card. It doesnt matter what success they have, as long as they have their owners, I would never want to swap places with them.

One of my good pals is a Mag but he’s went home and away for years, genuinely knows his football. He’s not too bad. It’s the ones who don’t attend games who’re the worst for me, they don’t have a clue about football but go on and on and on. Horrible

Yep. Seconded!! Lad I worked wo5 some. 30 years ago is exactly the latter! Never used to talk about football until the Saudi takeover! Hates being told they’re a sell out club! Seems to know everything there is to know about our games too. “How lucky were you against Leeds”. “Thanks for watching” is my normal retort

It’s always the ones who never attend matches anarl. Them being half decent and actually winning things would be insufferable

Surprised at the strength of the Everton side tonight. They’re just desperate for a win, I suppose…

    Fulham v Watford.

Pretty much all Fulham but without any threat. Lots of changes for each side.
