I think you’d be a fool to believe that sort of stuff now. It could get serious, and fast.

So is Trump threatening to use military force to take Greenland, an attack against a NATO member cause to start WW3?

Because of the way the Orange Moron want to isolate the US from anything outside the USA, Europe needs to get its s hit together really quick.I see him withdrawing from NATO soon and that leaves Europe very exposed. The EU plus the UK has the troops the money and the wherewithal to do this...just not sure with the advent of the far right Political Parties winning power in Europe it will happen ...but something needs to happen soon.....just might involve the likes of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other to get involved to fill the void left by the US

Didn't realise the Orange Moron negotiated Afghanistan directly with the Taliban, look how well that's gone?

Trumps plans and ideas may be questionable, but how sad that as soon as any inroad into the idea of peace and the end to killing comes along, the talk and rhetoric by others of threat and we'll increase our armies and weaponry, and we'll risk escalation, etc start to rise. Not only Europe and ukraine should be invoved in negotiation but the insepid United Nations should be there on behalf of humanity. Bang their heads together and say it stops worldwide. Leaders and governments must make the sacrifice of what they want for the short term of the rest of their lives, for the benefit of their future generations , so their children , grandchildren can be born into a world free of war and conflict

I'm more than happy for him to get an award if it meant he's achieved peace for everyone.

You can't get a peace prize by providing an open door into central Europe for Putin

If anyone really thinks Trumps modus operandi is world peace then fair enough. For me, the political parallels between the USA and 1930's Germany is worrying.

I'm all for the war to stop in Ukraine...who isn't..... But does Putin just "get away with it" no recourse for invading and destroying the country? Will Putiin be allowed to keep the land he captured? If so....does ANYONE actually believe this will end in any kind of lasting peace. Trump also wants Russia to become part of the G8 again... on what basis, Rewarding a tyrant for invading a sovereign country
Trump has surrounded himself with sycophants who will blindly do all of Trumps bidding..no questions asked. This isn't a government..this is a true dictatorship...hence my worry about the similarities between the USA and 30's Germany

Anyone who thinks that whatever Trump is cooking up with Putin results in lasting peace in Europe needs their heads read tbh. See the Russians have said that Europe has no place at the negotiating table. What could possibly go wrong with a disinterested, remedial US and a malevolant Russia, parked on the border negotiating the terms of an agreement that has a direct and immediate effect on European security without European involvement, eh? I absolutely don't want war. My kids are the generation who'd be getting called up. However, its clear that the current course makes war for the UK MORE likely rather than less.

In my view,Trump is trying to protect the dominance the USA has over the rest of the world,in the face of significant challenge from other countries, who are joining together to try to create a new world order. The USA rules,ok,and he's trying to ensure their dominance continues.
World assets are priced in dollars....gold,oil and almost every other commodity. The Federal Reserve has control of the exchange value of the dollar,so,in theory it carries huge influence on world trade.
The World Bank and the IMF are based in Washington DC....the United Nations is based in New York. Other nations,...the Chinese, the Indians, the Russians and others are challenging this dominance.
Trump knows it....for all his nonsense,he is an intelligent man. He's already met with Modi, now he's making overtures to Putin in a bid to split the opposition.
Tariffs for this, tariffs for that...he's flexing his muscles....but deals will get done. He knows the EU is a bunch of disparate liberals who are struggling to find any kind of consensus on much of the things concerning their peoples.....and he's picking Ukraine and Nato to have a go at them,in addition to the trade issues...not to mention the ludicrous migration fiasco.
    Deals will get done.
Appointing someone like Musk to have a go at the US Govt.infrastructure is a master stroke. It's obvious to almost everyone that Civil Service costs are astronomic and way out of proportion to the benefits they provide for the disadvantaged, let alone the taxpayer. It's completely evident here in the UK and even more so in the EU. Social, PC policy and frequent, almost unintelligible legislation has gone beyond sensible and acceptable levels. Trump knows it and is doing something about it..... Govt.here and in Europe need to take note and to understand why the current swing to the right is a very attractive alternative for many in their electorate, before it's too late.

Sorry mate, I don't think Trump is an intelligent person, He reminds me of Boris Johnson, Full of bluster and no substance. You say " Deal will get done" ...who with Russia and China ?? and at what cost ? also Musk.... I don't think its a master stroke at all. Musk funded Trumps election to the tune of $250m. He is in line for Billions of dollars of contracts with his Soace X company and i'm guessing "The Deal" thats been done here.....Musk aids Trump with support in the election for what he has now...and mark my words...the contracts will come flooding in for this unelected multi Billionaire. I'm assuming he is not doing what he is doing via DOGE from the goodness of his heart

So we’re saying that the US is no longer an ally to the UK? I agree.
