So you think these non legal sharia courts/councils only deal with marriage guidance then.

Do we not have marriage laws or something?

Yes bro, read what I just posted.

Thus if any decisions or recommendations are made by a sharia council that are inconsistent with domestic law (including equality policies such as the Equality Act 2010) domestic law will prevail.

    @Sucky

Sharia courts, also known as Sharia councils, are not formal courts of law in the UK and do not have legal binding authority. Their decisions are based on Islamic religious law and cannot overrule UK law. The UK government's position is that national law takes precedence over religious practices.

No I'm not saying they are useless. Muslim people use them for guidance in matters pertaining to their religion.

What your twitter ****e is trying to hoodwink you into, is believing that they are legal courts separate from UK law.

You need to stop being groomed by this **** bro.

    Twitter tells me nothing bro.

Just like these official quotes bout sharia youre pasting off the Internet tell you nothing.

I've never been to one, have you?

Why do Muslims need a sharia law or council in the UK then? we have our own laws that cover all things.

So you think that these official quotes about the legal jurisdiction of sharia councils aren't true ?

No I'm saying you don't know what goes in in one of these sharia laws mettings or whatever they are and neither do I.

The official line of Pakistani Muslims is that they don't gang rape young white girls.

And that ain't true is it

No I don't know what goes on at a Sharia Council as I'm not Muslim.

What I do know is that they have no legal jurisdiction in UK law. So there is no Sharia Law in the UK, which was your first point.

Why don't you take up @Spurlock's offer to spend some time with him where you can go to some Mosques and meet some actual Muslims and find out for yourself ?

As long as these 'Sharia courts' have no prevalence / precedence over any single aspect of UK law, frankly I don't give a flying about them ...

'We don't' ... and I think that's the point - if you get divorced, you and your missus will have to split your armchair, PlayStation and curling tongs under the rule of UK law - Sharia will be irrelevant (even if your missus is muslim) ...

The best way I can think of explaining it is Sharia Council/Court is not really much difference than me going to a marriage guidance councillor, the only difference being the former might be held in a side room of a religious building (mosque). People also go to Citizen Advice Bureau's for the financial side of things.

    UK law always prevails.

There are always going to be examples of system abuse in anything in life.

Here's a documentary from the BBC on the topic, from 8 years ago. Please listen to it all and understand, not just any negatives that are portrayed...

Catholic Churches have confessional and the priest can order you to say prayers and play with beads.

It's not legally enforcable. The priest gives advice/ instruction based on his religion. The church can't legally send a bunch of altar boys with sore bums to your house to beat you up if you don't say your Hail Marys or because they learnt you shagged your first cousin without marrying her first.

Is it really that much different?
