He was at Shelbourne over here for the last Irish season he was woeful every time I saw him couldn’t believe he was only 30
My dads from Kent and half follows Gillingham I had the pleasure of watching him play for them a couple of times too, runs like a dressage pony, he was even worse than I remembered
Would folk be happy with these 3 signings in Jan Le Fee - Loan Vale - perm Carlos vinicius - Loan/perm Then sell/Loan the following: Rusyn - Loan (can't see him going permanently) Ba - perm Anderson - released/perm Johnson - Loan Jewi - Perm
Would be top class. We also need to get Neil and Cirkin to sign their contracts. Getting the fear with Neil mind. 18 months left..
Most people seem to be after an upgrade on Roberts’ output on the right hand side (I’m not sure how feasible that is) and I’m not sure that addresses that so may leave many unsatisfied. It’s my own issue, not a criticism of the club as I know we need numbers and cover in there, but the potential Le Fee transfer feels quite bitter sweet for me. I don’t see how we get him here without at least an implied assurance of playing time. Bellingham and Rigg have always had offers of playing at a higher level for ‘bigger’ clubs but the promise of minutes is what differentiates us from the alternatives, Neil is our captain (and, ok, happens to be my favourite player) is stalling on a contract and needs convincing his future is here, we then have Samed and Aleksic (whose own development would only benefit from cameos like Sunday) I just don’t know how we square the circle, keep people happy and maintain the squad harmony that has been so fundamental to our success this season.
If Rigg and Bellingham can't compete here, they'll never make it in the Prem. For me it means we can rotate and keep people fresh for what would be a massive run in for us.
I absolutely think that if he comes it simply HAS to be met with an increased willingness to use subs by RLB
I think the lack of subs reflects a lack of trust, to be honest. Bringing players like this will make RLB more comfortable that players coming on can positively impact the game. Would be huge going in to the second half of the season, especially as players come back from injury.
I'm not worried about the minutes being shared as Rigg is still only 17, Jobe only 19 and I think Brownes injury might be worse than 1st feared. Samed has been injured all season so who knows what he will be like for us. CM is the most important position and we need numbers in there at the minute, and I'd rather we signed a quality one than one that'll just be a back up to the 1st choice 3 Vale is decent on the right wing, I don't like him as a LM as he lacks explosive pace. I was chatting to a scout for Ipswich the other day and I asked him about Vale and he said his best position is RM. He says he is really intelligent coning off his wing and finding pockets of space but he's also good in 1v1 situations. He is different to Roberts but I think that's a good thing, gives us a different option. He says he will be a quality championship player in the future, he isnt sure if he thinks he can be a PL regular though but says he would be a cracking signing for us with the type of players we have at the club
Sounds like an A+ window that, if I'm being nitpicky I'm holding out hope that Ba can somehow make it work here so I'd prefer to see him loaned, but again I'm nitpicking.
